375ml bottle pours out dark brown almost black topped with a dark tan head. Nose is roast malts chocolate vanilla barrel bourbon tartness funk and some wine notes. Taste is more of the roast malts chocolate tartness vanilla bourbon barrel oak and a nice end. Normally I am not a big fan of sour porters or stouts. But this one is nice.

Negra profunda, dos dedos de espuma. Aroma Agrio. Sabor Agrio que se come todo lo demás. Debajo debe haber cosas interesantes, pero hay que estar preparado para soportar el sabor agrio agrio. Realmente SOUR. No es para mi. Lo siento.

[2/13/15] Draught sample at Almanac & Friends Sourfest at Public House in San Francisco. Dark brown to black. Roasty and sour aroma with lots of fruitiness, vanilla and a bit of vinegar. Roasty flavor, sour and fruity, with a bit of vanilla. Medium-bodied.

Bottle. Nose of grapes, chocolate, yogurt, wine, vanilla. Pitch black with pretty lace. Acidic punch in the mouth is more than you expect from the nose. Lemon, grapefruit, grape. less of the dark character, more sour. Great crisp carbonation. Love it.

375ml bottle @ Gaasa, May 2014. Dark brown body with a medium sized, dense off-white head. Aroma has dark malt, chocolate, red berries, some wood and hint of acid and warming alcohol. Flavor is sweet malty, vinous fruity, chocolate and some mild acidity. Fine body and a good aftertaste with oak, alcohol and dry fruit. Really nice. Suprisingly mild and easy to drink, still tasty and complex.
