This all comes together very well. I like the light chilli notes in here, blends well with cacao and vanilla, the latter shines especially prominently. Bitter and spicy finish. Pours black without much head or lacing on cask. Thick consistency. Tap at brewpub.

Sampled on site. Pours an inky black with some cloudy, tan head. Smells like a candle, big cinnamon, raisin, vanilla, milk chocolate, toast, molasses, a little fake plastic. Flavor was strong, malt, chocolate, vanilla, mild cinnamon, a little tobacco leaf, raisin, cracker. Spicy finish. This is the type of beer I normally love to hate, but I thought this was fairly well restrained given the ingredients and everything meshed well. I think this beer was helped by a reasonable alcohol level too.

Tap at the Brewpub: Pours black with a beige head. Aroma is vanilla, chocolate (a whole lot of it really), spice and loads of it... but I didn’t really get all that much in the way of chilly pepper. Taste is sweet with loads of the chocolate. Nice mellow spiciness. Taste is wicked smooth. Quite tasty.

Draft at the brewery. Poured a nice, dark color with a tan head. Aroma was dark, roasted malts, some bitter chocolate with some creamy, roasted chile notes. Sweet, lactose notes here, plenty of chocolate character - some light coffee. Strange, but pretty enjoyable.
