Inspired by historic recipes between 1895 and 1905, we have created a rich and robust Porter, using traditional floor malted barley and exclusively hopped with British Fuggles. The beer opens with a flavour of sweet praline, which gives way to rich cacao, and underlying notes of tobacco and leather.

Cask at LHG Brewpub, Bristol on 13th May 2026. Almost impenetrably black with light brown foam and scant lacing. Earthy roast malt aroma. Coffee roastiness in-mouth and a finish of more coffee and hints of dark chocolate. Light bodied with a smooth texture.

Good stuff overall. Interesting character. Decent roast, little ash, cocoa, raisin, twangy dark berries, little dirt, old tyres. The condition ain’t bad. Pleasantly rounded.
