From tap at the Avenue Pub, New Orleans. Roasty aroma with dark malt, notes of chocolate, touch of nuts, mocha, coffee, caramel. Roasty bitter and medium sweet. Body is medium. Truly an exemplary Schwarz, and I know my way 'round Germany.

On tap at Great Raft, pours a deep dark brown / near-black with a reddish tinge and a small tan head. Aroma brings out an earthy, medium roasted malt, with a nice dryness to it. Flavour is dry and toasty, with a nice earthy, dry, toasted malt character, and a touch of dry cocoa powder. Smooth and rounded, with good drinkability. Nice stuff.
