Bottle received in trade. Thank you GT2! Pours dark blackish brown with a frothy mocha head that leaves some sparse trace on the glass while dissipating. Smell is sweet, malty and tiny fruity with roasted malts, dark roast coffee, raisins, prunes, coffee cherries, bitter chocolate, green bell peppers and moist soil. Taste is slightly sweet, bitter, malty and tiny fruity with roasted malts, burnt caramel, burnt wood, dark roast coffee, bitter chocolate, moist soil, burnt raisins, hay, burnt cookies and hint of alcohol and green bell peppers. Mouthfeel is soft, round, tiny roasted astringent and near full bodied. Finish is tiny sweet, bitter and malty with roasted malts, burnt caramel, dark roast coffee, bitter chocolate, burnt raisins, moist soil and hay. Really nice coffee impy…

Thanks DontDrinkBeer for sending this over. Split 3 ways in Quebec with some friends at room temp.

A - Poured a 2 finger creamy milk chocolate head with big ’ol bubbles. Fades very slowly to some sticky lacing. Pitch black

S - Nose is big roasted day-old espresso. sort of a raw element to this one. chocolate, cocoa, espresso and licorice.

T - Insanely coffee forward. A lot of coffee like raw espresso beans just chewing on them by the handful with little bits of dates, chocolate, licorice and sweet cheap jelly beans in an assortment of dark flavors.

M - Oily, thick almost no sweetness

O - This beer just blows away your palate with coffee and fruits. It’s so freaking coffee forward that I honestly would rather just make espresso.

Sample at Kurtkeller 006: Cascade-tastic 01 on 02/21/2014. Pours pitch black with a medium foamy light brown head that diminishes gradually. Patches of lacing on the glass. Aroma of black coffee, malt and chocolate. Full-bodied with flavors of chocolate-covered espresso beans, charred malt and a hint of black licorice. The finish is roasty with a mocha aftertaste. Good beer all around.

Bottle share by GT, thanks! Pours black with an earthy brown head that dissipates slowly to the edges. Aroma has a nice coffee note that is supported by dark grains, roasted malts and a hint of dark fruits. Flavor has rich coffee that matches nicely with dark chocolate, dark grains and a hint of dark fruits.

Sample from 650 ml bottle. Pitch black with a small, tan head. Roasted aroma with dark, bitter chocolate, coffee and caramel malts. Some licorice and spiced hints. Very intense on the coffee. Taste is sweet - and coffee... Full body and a creamy texture. Finishes sweet and roasted with lots of coffee and malts. Excellent for a coffee lover!
