Hop House combines the delicious aromas and flavors of a Belgian-style ale with generous hopping, including dry-hopping. A well-balanced, yet ample, hop character defines this fine pale ale, bringing Belgian-style beer lovers and hop-heads together to enjoy our Belgian-American love child.

Bottle, at the Corner Foodery, Philadelphia. A creamy, off-white head forms over a hazy, orange colored body, releasing aromas of oranges, zest mostly, some Belgian yeastyness and a spiced touch. Nice bitterness in the flavor, not too sweet, with citrus zest and some sweetish malts. It’s full-bodied, smooth and with a nice carbonation. Rather dry. Long belgo finish with oranges and a decent bitterness. Nice indeed. 150622

Ha, it took me a minute to realize what I had here, presupposing it was just an IPA, I thought, oh man, its old. No, its a Belgian IPA. And its fine. Nice light banana wheat citrus zest phenol that I would otherwise not like but is balanced by the fruitiness and spicy hopping, resiny bitter finish.

Sample at Mongoose vs Cobra. Hazy orange color with a medium fluffy white head that diminishes gradually. Partial rings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of floral hops, pine and malt. Medium body with flavors of piney hops, fruit and toasted malt. The finish is moderately bitter with a floral yeast and hops aftertaste. Above average overall.

Bottle. Big, frothy, white head, mostly lasting. Hazy, golden body. Aroma of citrus, lemon, herbs, flowers, toasted grain, pepper, light mustiness. The flavor is moderately sweet and lightly bitter. It finishes lightly sweet, moderately bitter and lightly acidic. Medium body, velvety texture, lively carbonation. Lingering bitterness. Lemon, citrus taste balanced with light funkiness and floral hop. Clean, highly drinkable. Nicely done. Can taste American and Belgian influences — a nice combination.

Summer Beer Dabbler 2014. Very good hop aroma and Belgian yeast in the flavor. Great palate, and comparable to other Belgian style IPAs of good quality.
