Draft at ratlle and hum. I don’t know why this was a saison, it was a little funkadelic.

Draft. Murky brown color, scant edge head. Aroma of brown bread. Taste is bitter and sour, a real mess. Not good.

Smells solid Saison, sweet with bubblegum and wheat, with a yeasty background. Pours okay, not very Belgian-like, but quite brown. Tastes like a solid Saison made by Sierra Nevada should taste. It checks all the needed Saison traits off the list one by one, hefe-like but dry and bubbly, and adds an American Brown Ale northwestern hop finish. One flows easily into the other, surprisingly so, making for a sweet unexpected growler. (5/7/09)

Draft. A red-brown beer with a lazing beige head. The aroma has notes of malt as well as lighter notes of citrus fruits, brettanomyces, and alcohol. The flavor is sweet with ntoes of malt, lemon, brettanomyces, yeast, and bread, as well as lighter notes of alcohol, leading to a dry and slightly tart finish.

On cask at the Whole Foods / CCB Cask Event. It pours clear deep copper brown with off white head. The aroma is spicy – coriander – yeastiness to go along with spicy crystallized malts. The taste is similar with fairly bright notes of assorted spices like coriander mixing with a yeasty spiciness and an herbal sensation. It also has ample amounts of sweetness from prunes and ripe plums.

Had it on tap at the Pony Bar in NYC. Pretty good beer. Pours a dark brown with a medium head. Nose of yeast and roasted malts. Flavor is interesting: a plethora of fruity notes atop a malty foundation. Slightly sour. Finishes crisp and clean.

Brown coloured body with a very thin tan head atop the beer - decent looking. Aroma of light hay, grass, wheat and yeast, but mostly acidic and showing wierd fruits. Medium-bodied; Strong malty flavours mostly roasted with a little alcohol and bubble gum tucked in - but hardly any true saison flavours roaming here. Aftertaste shows more vinegar and acidic tastes, but a strong caramel and full-bodied taste comes out near the end. Overall, not such a great beer - and seemingly far away from the style the attempted to hit. Good to try, since I’ve never seen it before, but that’s about it. I sampled this beer on draught at Kelly’s Gingernut Pub in Cape Charles (Eastern Shore), Virginia on 06-September-2009.

Sample at Jackie O’s in Athens. The beer is a hazy brown color with a medium off-white head that dissipates steadily. Stringy lacing on the glass. Fruity aroma with notes of malt and yeast. Medium body with flavors of fruit, wheat, malt and cloves. The finish is fruity with a light spiced yeast aftertaste. Above average overall.

Sampled on draft at D’s in Monroeville PA this beer poured a caramel-brown color with a small tang head. The aroma was musty, dryish and nutty. The flavor was dry, spicy and a bit musty and earthy with light sour fruity hops and a tart, tangy and bitter undertone. The finish was long, tarty, tangy and a bit fruity. Medium body. Decent.
