(Bottle) Dark brown colour with brief, foamy head. Malty, spicy nose with notes of caramel, liquorice, chocolate, toffee, orange peel and spices (anise, fennel seeds, nutmeg). Malty, spicy taste with caramel, coffee, chocolate, liquorice, orange peel, cola, burnt sugar, Christmas spices and a mild spicy bitterness. More than medium body with a certain sweetness. Tasty and spicy winter ale. Nice one.

Bottle at Danish Ratebeer Summer Gathering 2015, Ulfborg. Pours Dark brown with a ring tan head. Aroma is heavy herbal with malt, cloves and overripe dark fruit. Flavour is moderate sweet and bitter. Medium bodied with soft carbonation.

Bottle @ Danish Ratebeer Summer Gathering, 2015. Pours black with a creamy beige head. Sugars, spices and caramel. Doughy and yeasty. Medium bodied. Dry bitter spicy finish.

2005 christmas at Carlsens skvatter, Odense: Hazy orange with an off white head. Medium bodied & rather flat carbonation. Orange peel, sugar & dark malts. Caramel & spices. Remember liking this one, and remembering it as one of the better from the brewery! Re-rate Odense Jan 2012. Caramel, spices and liquorice. Solid and tasty. Same total again.

Bottle, 7.2% looks like the same "Bøgedal Nr. 0073 Mørk #8"????. Very dark brown with small beige head. Aroma is roasted malts, chocolate, coffee, hop, muscovado and spices. Flavour is malt, caramel, light toasted malts, chocolate, coffee, medium sweet, spices, muscovado and medium bitter.

Bottle @ fonefan tasting. Nice head with good duration. Color is dark brown. Aroma and taste are roast malt, coffee, candy sugar and hops.
