Our Tripel pours a hazy deep gold with a creamy head. Upfront aromas of fresh plums, orange, white flowers and a hint of hay evolve into aromas of caramel malt and cola as the glass warms. A very balanced flavor profile and a creamy mouthfeel lead into a light malt sweetness with a final transition into a hint of warming alcohol and soft drying bitterness.

Hope this is a bad bottle because onion peel and burnt matches are not common to this style.

New Beer Distributors, NYC 50cl: Pours golden with a white head. Aroma is mildly spicy, somewhat yeasty, and fruity. Taste is much in the same category. There is not so much a traditional tripel taste as it that of a Belgian blonde. Not to say that this is a bad thing. Mild hoppiness. Not particularly interesting.

Bottle. Pours orange gold with white head. Nose and taste of alcohol soaked fruits, yeast, booze and apple skin. Medium body. A bit too boozy for my tastes.

Pours deep hazy gold into a tulip. Soapy white head with medium retention recedes to mottle surface. Sweet yeast, grass, bandaid and tropical fruit aromas. Medium bodied and vegetal with sourdough and caramel front to back. Dry lasting earth finish.

50cl bottle pours a translucent orange with some spitty, white head. Nose is sugary, almost a little lemon pound cake, orange. Flavor has more of that pound cake, sweet candy, tropical fruit. Sweet finish. So so.

Bottle. Poured a clear, pale orange color with a wispy white head. Aroma was spicy malts, hops, earthy notes, some funky yeast. Flavor was sweet malts, earthy notes, with notes of yeast. Not bad.

Pour is a bright golden with a white head. Aroma is some fruityness with lots of candi sugar. Flavor is again with some fruit. Finish is grassy hops and kinda bitter. Just an ok triple. Maybe using another yeast strain would have done better things for me. Nothing really came out for me with the one and it is super dry.

Hazy deep copper coloured body with an orange glow and a thin, one centimetre tall off-white head. Aroma of pale malt, yeast, coriander seed, curacao, hay, grass and a bit of alcohol. Medium-bodied; Strong yeast flavour at first then showing some wheat, alcohol, earth, caramel and a hint of the coriander seed and a tiny amount of citrus. Aftertaste is a bit complex with the yeast and alcohol coming through mostly and a hint of sweetness and a twinge of spices near the end. Overall, excited to try this, but it didn’t deliver in the way I’d expect - a fairly one dimensional tripel with some decent flavours but nothing overwhelming. I sampled this 50 cL bottle purchased from Olive Tree Market Place in San Diego, California on 01-May-2012 for US$6.49 sampled at home in Washington on 29-November-2012.
