Light brown, fruity, hoppy aroma. Sweet and spicy. Reminds me a bit of Maduro, with more limey hops.

(500mL bottle from brewery) Pours a murky med-dark brown with a big bubbly off-white head that lingers and leaves a bunch of lace. Aroma citrus, ripe fruit, a little grass/fresh pine, some slightly nutty/dark bread malt character, sweet. On the palate, sweet and hoppy at first, ripe fruit and citrus, caramel and lightly roasted malts. Drier in the middle, light toast, slight nuts, fresh evergreen, but those ripe fruity hops persist and take over again in the finish. Fruit makes the finish seem sweeter than it is, slightly bitter, slight roast but mostly leafy, fruity hops. Body is fairly light, carb soft. I wanted to like this more than I do, not bad but it just doesn’t quite come together for me. I like the hop-heavy approach but I think this is a bit in-between styles I like. Not quite an IPA, not quite a black IPA. Ergo good, not great.

This brown ale poured a slightly cloudy, deep amber colour with a minimal , tan coloured head. Scents include ripe fruit, grassy hops, hay and leaves. First swig was quite hoppy off the start but tapers quickly. Flavours of spruce hops and ripe fruit, along with roasted malts. Finish was hoppy and had a medium bitterness lingering.

Draft - Big pine nose and some toasted malts. Deep clear brown with a light brown head. Piney hop bomb with a tiny bit of roast but not much. Way off balance, just a brown IPA. Style is way off bit still enjoyable.

A deep dark brown ale with a thin brown head. In aroma, smooth catty hops, with nutty caramel, pungent and surprising. In mouth, a nice nutty caramel malt with light roasted coffee, catty piney hops, well made.

Very hoppy. In the black IPA ballpark for sure. Pours with pillowy beige head. Some malt in aroma. Dark clody colour. Taste is medium bitter. On tap at brewpub.
