Life & Limb is a collaborative effort, the brainchild of Sierra Nevada Brewing Co. and Dogfish Head Craft Brewery. Life & Limb is a 10% ABV strong, dark beer that defies style characteristics- brewed with pure maple syrup from the Calagione family farm in Massachusetts and estate barley grown on the Grossman "farm" at the brewery in Chico, CA. The beer is alive with yeast-a blend of both breweries' house strains-bottle conditioned for added complexity and shelf life, and naturally carbonated with birch syrup fresh from Alaska.

Life & Limb is dedicated to the family of beer drinkers and enthusiasts worldwide who continue to support the little guys, iconoclasts, entrepreneurs, and pioneers who risk life and limb to shape the vibrant craft-brewing community.

Big bottle thanks to Stu. Pours opaque black with a nice thin crema head. The nose has chocolate biscuits with cream and The taste has liquorice, tar, dark chocolate, cream. The palate has a rich full body, a big creamy middle section and unfortunately I feel this is far too cloying on the end. It’s imbalanced which is shame.

Dark brown beer, light just passes through. Softish palate, semi dry. Sublte toffee malt nose. A strange beer this - creamy malt, a dash of coffee, licorice, aniseed alcohol. A little marmalade hop bitterness. Finishes soft and dry. Nice components but disjointed. Nontheless end up a decent brew!

Bottle Pours a dark brown with a small beige head. The aroma is caramel and faint hop. Thin mouthfeel with roast and vanilla. Easy to drink a very good American strong ale from SN and Dogfish Head.

Bomber. Pours a deep dark brown with a large creamy beige head. Very nice lacing remains. Aroma is of roasted malt, dark fruits, and chocolate. Taste is chocolate malts, fruity maple sweetness, some hoppy bitterness, and a touch of alcohol. Full bodied, well carbonated, and somewhat alcoholic on the fish. Interesting.
