Bottle thanks to Matt. Pours a clear copper with small frothy white. The aroma is rye and roast. Thin mouth with light smoke and roast, strong rye, nice booze, very good.

Red pour, not much head. Booze, caramel and some citrus. Booze a little too prominent. Ok head and lacing. Rye doesnβt help with big booze here. Bottle thanks to nimbleprop.

22oz bottle pours a hazy amber with a single ring of eggshell head. Nose has a ton of booze, nail polish, some dried fruit, some wood pulp, a little cleaning solution. Flavor is boozy, tart, raisins, dried apricot, vegetal, wood pulp. Sort of astringent, vegetal finish.

Nice deep copper coloured body with a light brown glow, some hints of deep amber and a tint of ruby, all with a perfect, three centimetre tall tan head - this one is very nice looking. Aroma of alcohol, oak, rye, tobacco, bright hops and plenty of sugars. Full-bodied; Deep, super pungent alcohol and rye flavours with a lot of caramel, banana, clove, yeast and pit fruit flavours - very cloying on the finish and almost a meal in itself. Aftertaste shows a nice hoppy flavour with a lot of rye, somehow even more alcohol and a deep, syrupy, resinous, oaky and very dry rye and vanilla finish. Overall, a very pungent and super strong beer with some nice complexities and a solid balance between sweet, malt, oak and alcohol. I wish this was just in a small format bottle - the density and gravity of this beer is just too much to handle in 65 cL! I sampled this 65 cL bottle purchased from Belmont Station in Portland, Oregon on 12-April-2013 for US$12.47 sampled at home in Washington on 01-September-2013.

Bomber from Malt & Vine. Pours dark ruddy amber with a half finger creamy beige head. Aroma is roast malt with a fair amount of rye notes. Very full bodied. Creamy. Flavor is heat enhanced rye. Rye spice. Itβs like a flavorful barley wine. Or perhaps a beer aged in fresh oak. If there were more fruit aspects it could be a fantastic quad. Super brilliant ale. Get it if you can.

22 ounce bottle wax dipped in red wax. Pours a mostly clear ruby color with a medium white head. A big sweet nose of fruit, vanilla and whiskey. The flavor is initially some tobacco, leather, big fruit, strawberries, later big rye whiskey, earthy, even smoky at times. Huge vanilla. Very good. The barrel addition is just perfect. Mellow and yet big flavors.
