30/9/2025. Can shared by SHIG, cheers! USA rating #1300. Good pour. Aroma is roasted malts, toasted, dark chocolate, piney, nutty, husky, citrus. Taste is bitter roasted, pine needles. Light sweetness, coming through a little more to finish to mellow the roasting. Decent body. Picks up some very good BIPA elements. Enjoyed this.

Panda, courtesy of SHIG, pours with a clear dark mahogany colored body that supports a thin tan head of foam. The aroma offers up roasted to chocolate malts as well as thin vague citrus to pine hops. The taste delivers a pleasing blend of moderately roasted malts, a bit of chocolate malts, nutty like coffee malts flowing into modest pine hop bitterness and faint grapefruit like citrus hops. Nice. It isn't over roasty but does provide only a tepid level of hoppiness. I dig this.

Deep dark brown coloured body with a light muddied glow and a very thick and dense three to four centimetre tall rich light brown head. Aroma of roasted malt, oatmeal, caramelised sugars and a little dose of nuts without any real nuts and only a sliver of hops noticeable at the very end. Medium-bodied; Strong robust toasted and roasted malt notes dominate with a lot of toffee and caramelised sugars along with some earthier nuts and some rustic deep grainy notes, all show way before any hop bitterness finds its way out, but some resinous and grassy elements do come out near the end along with a smooth sweetness at the very end. Aftertaste shows some deep chocolate and caramel notes with sugars and oatmeal/malt really dominating the flavour and leaving very little space for the hops, which are strong, no doubt, but can't break free from the strong malt and bitter flavours. Overall, a nice beer throughout with a ton of nice flavours that all work out well, but if the malt was a bit lighter or somehow the hops were stronger, it would show more as a Black IPA (intended), versus the hoppy stout/porter this currently shows as. I sampled this twelve ounce can purchased from Total Wine in Manassas, Virginia on 19-May-2020 for US$2,99 sampled at my house here in Washington on 07-August-2020.

12 ounce can. Pours a nearly pitch black color with a large beige head. A big sweet chocolate and light pine nose. Sweet, again big chocolates, toast, some pine, low to medium bitterness. Quite smooth, solid CDA. Lovely.

Can from weihenweizen, thanks!: pours near black with a pretty tan head. Aroma is a muddle of roasted malts and some piney hops. Taste is moderately bitter, sort of roasty, not very sweet. Body is medium. Not thoroughly impressed, but drinkable.
