An 8% New England DIPA brewed in collaboration with Left Handed Giant
Earlier this year, and by pure coincidence, both breweries selected identical lots of Mosaic & Simcoe (Coleman Farm, Oregon) and Nectaron & Nelson Sauvin (Mac Hops, NZ). From there, the doors opened, and the recipes diverged. The result is two distinct 8% DIPAs that explore the wildly different consequences our brewing choices can have.
Our half of the story, ‘The Doorway Effect’, lands today on the webshop. It’s a big, hoppy monster of a DIPA designed to showcase the vibrancy of these specific lots. Expect saturated hop aroma and a rounded mouthfeel. It’s bright, zippy, juicy, and even a little wild around the edges.
Across the hallway, LHG have crafted their own interpretation: ‘Hidden Volumes’. Go check it out, it's available on their webshop now.
Same starting point, two different paths.

hazy yellow colour, moderate sized dense ecru-ish head; aroma of tangerine, ripe tropical fruity, peachy and some grapefruity notes;taste of syrupy sweetness, the same notes as can be felt in the aroma and some spicy-celery aftertaste; not bad

440ml can at Benny’s Place, Kuala Lumpur. Poured a hazy yellow golden colour with a lasting frothy white head. The aroma is grainy, herbal, tropical citrus. The flavour is moderate bitter, with a smooth, fresh, light herbal, mango, hop bitter palate. Medium bodied with average to soft carbonation.

Can picked up from Beyond Beer webshop Hamburg (I think 🤔) had this sat outside Frank at Camping Nový Rybník, Nepomuk, Czech Rep' Thursday 9th July 2026 listening to Boards of Canada - Inferno. Pours lemon curd yellow with a mid sized white head..Wow this is a beast of a beer, as the description suggests it's a hop monster, really bolshy hops, big, punchy, a little bit hot. Big hoppy nose it's a big juicy but also quite assertive beer, Mouthfeel is good, there is a little tingle and sting. I like this it's a good beer. Score: 7.7

440ml can. Murky golden, white head. Aroma of tropical fruits and dank herbal notes, quite weedy. Taste of ripe tropical fruits, guava, mango, peach, dank weedy herbal overtones through and lingering in the finish, some hop bitterness. Medium bodied, smooth.
Another banger but LHG really knocked it out of the park with theirs. Both of these were superb though.

Can. A hazy orange gold beer, small bubbly pale cream colour head. Airy smooth palate, develops good fine minerally carbonation on the back end. Light pale malts, a nice light creamy sweetness. Hops bring soft cooling pine into a slightly tangy and damp hop skunk. Hop fruits deliver bright rich citrus and stone fruits. Hop spice. Light spicy skunky savoury finish leaves a hop spicy linger. Good all round affair. Skunk, spice, punchy hop fruits. Now deliver that with less yeast and make me even happier!
