Thursday 16th October 2025. Cobweb tasting session with four friends, almost every beer being very old or just 'out of date' (mostly very old). My place being the venue. 750ml bottle of this, no idea how old, but it had been around a fair few years (in minutemat's cellar and other places) before we broached it. Still had a bit of life and a barrel aging booziness, held some sweetness too, but that was fading with age. Scored kindly!

CBJ Bottleshare. Thanks to me. A mildly hazy darkish amber beer, good pale tan head. Airy palate, a very mild dryness, good fine minerally carbonation. Airy smooth malts, slightly tangy caramel. Floral ripe fruity mid. The Oloroso comes through on the back end. Slightly savoury sherry. Light finish. Has aged gracefully.

Bottle at Mikkeller Pop Up. Cake, Iight spice, dark fruit, dough. Taste is good, little bit of Xmas pudding, some dark treacle and ginger, bit of booze from the barrel. Nutty. Good stuff.

75cl bottle watching The Oath. Pours deep, lightly hazed mahogany, small beige head that recedes to bubbles. Taste is smooth, moderately sweet caramel, dried fruit, dark malt.. like others have mentioned this simply lacks the punch and intense candy sugar sweetness of Westmalle or any other dark Belgian beers and comes across a bit deflated. It's a fine sipper, but just falls flat.
