16 oz can Pours a muddy dark amber with an off-white head. Malty, piney aroma present, but not in any big way. The flavor is big malt and big hop that reminds me somewhat of a softer, smoother Arrogant Bastard. Smooth and creamy body.

Big and burny. Huge hop-malt nose, but the taste is flourishing with boozy warmth. Massive sweet caramel bun middle with a modest orange-glaze undercurrent. Leads to a pleasantly sweet citrus-n-pine finish and a lengthy bitter fade. Tasty but harsh.

16 ounce can from Sidney’s in New Orleans. Dark reddish brown color. Small beige head. Rich brown Shar malty nose. Bittersweet toasted malt flavor has caramel notes. Hops kick in soon to for. Big and bold. Some alcohol in finish. Quite a nice Imperial Red Ale. Does that make sense? Overall, a nice bold hoppy brew to be reckoned wth.

Can: Unmistakable caramel nose, with subtle pineapple and lemon zest hints. Clear reddish brown, thick tan head, decent glass adherence. Less distinct caramel flavor, with hops taking a more prominent role. Grapefruit peel, cherries, wood, grass. Medium body, chewy, soft carbonation, a bit boozy. Nice balance. Oddly named, but great liquid.
