0.473l can. Aroma of caramel, dried fruit and herbs. Pours clear amber brown color with large soapy tan-like head and average sparkling appearance. Taste starts with sweet and rich toasted malty, caramel and dried fruit, following is herbal, slightly medicinal and ashy, mouthfeel is smooth, while finish is pretty bitter. Full body, oily texture and average carbonation in palate. Rich, rugged and raw…

GBBF Day 1. Cask. A light haze on this amber beer, small cream colour head. Smooth palate, mildly dry, decent fine carbonation. Light malts, touch of caramel. Ripe fruits and a nibbly hop spice. Some pine and esters on the back end. Not bad.

--Keg at Man in The Moon, Stockholm. -- Clear deep nut brown, small head. Aroma of malt syrup and toffee. Mid sweet with medium to full body and dense, rounded mouthfeel. Caramelly with notes of apples, tobacco and treacle. Fairly low bitterness.

16 oz can from Tavour. Ratings don't do this beer justice. Dark, clear brown with small, foamy tan head. Rich toasty malt aroma, sweet and nutty. Taste is full and robust, malty, sweet, nutty. If all browns tasted this good I'd order it more often....

On tap at Otter Creek, pours a hazy dark amber with a small off-white head. Aroma brings out rich caramel, with toffee and English bready malt. Flavour is more dry than the nose suggests, with English bready malt, light toasted and toasted dry caramel. Bready and malty without being very sweet. Nice stuff.

Pours dark with a thick head. Lots of carbonation. Aroma had notes of chocolate, malt and dark fruit. Taste has elements of cherry, coffee, and chocolate. Palate is complex, bitterness complements the various elements of dark fruits and coffee/chocolate that are contained within this beer. Interesting take on an ale, I imagine it would be difficult to have more than one of these at a time.

Draft at Tuckerman's Tavern in Intervale, NH. Mislabeled on the menu as a brown ale. Clear mahogany color with an off-white head and fair retention. Looks and tastes like a strong amber ale. Okay.
