Don’t get us wrong, we love us some Duckpin Pale Ale. Its still our go-to, hop forward, refreshing session pale - but in honor of the opening of the 5th Annual Baltimore Beer Week , we’ve lowered the bumpers, buffed our balls, & bowled ten frames of hops straight down the lane of our original pale ale to create the hoppiest IPA…

12 oz can at jcos' place, 10.29.15. Hazy orange color with a lasting head and plus lacework. Good pine and earthy hop flavor and aroma with some citrus as well and a good, strong malt presence. Not over the top bitter, more balanced. Nicely done.

Can with much thanks to Pedro! You da man! Pours a clear gold with a thin head and aromas of light citrus and tropical fruit. Flavor is also very clean and citrus/tropical... but lacks a strong direction. It’s a very, very nice beer, but it seems to lack a clear path. More than anything it is a very clean example of the style that would make me more than happy any night.

4 oz pour on draft at ChurchKey. Clear golden orange with off-white head. Aromas of citrus, tropical fruit, floral notes, pine. Tastes of citrus, tropical fruit, floral notes, pine, hop oils. Medium body with a dry finish. This one’s eluded me for so long, glad to finally try it! Fantastic double IPA.

Thanks Nate!
This was poured into a tulip.
The appearance was a hazy burnt orange color with a quickly dissipating slim head leaving messy lacing.
The smell had a big sweet luscious and sliding fresh grapefruit with a kick of bitter orange peel and fresh lemon scent mixed with a bit of freshly cut grass. Superb!
The taste takes that big sweet luscious grapefruit to town and enlivens eloquently and sweetly in a full richly satisfying citrus aftertaste. Sweet sticky finish rounds out the taste.
On the palate, this one sat about a medium on the body with a fairly decent sessionability about it. The carbonation is there but nothing overbearing. It ends up twisting itself around my tongue bitter yet smooth, sharp but pure. Making me want to gulp but leading me on.
Overall, where the hell did this come from? And who is Union Craft Brewing? Hot damn, I’ll gulp copious amounts of this for the rest of my life.

Refrigerated 12 oz. aluminum can, from jsquire, poured into a snifter. Translucent orange with small off-white head. Aroma is herbal hops, medium body, medium carbonation, and little lacing. Taste is dank, herbal hops, some mango, and bitter finish. Alcohol is well covered.

Ta to Robert A for sending me a couple of cans of this, the fabulous regular Duckpin, The Punisher, and 4 cans of National Bohemian...the original reason for the trade!

Hazy orange, small but persistent head of foam that is also persistent with the lacing.

Very very hoppy nose with an abundance of grapefruit citrus, mango, you know, what "we" like to call a dankness. The sweetish malt is not left far behind. Curbs the bitterness and actually dominates the flavour at times. More tropical fruitiness shows up as the beer warms..I kind of sense a note of pineapple.

On the top end of medium bodied with just the right amount of carbonation to make the mouthfeel top notch.

This is Double Duckpin, a well brewed double IPA. The regular Duckpin is a Pale Ale. 2 beers from Union Craft Brewing in Baltimore Maryland, that NEED to be tried!! Cheers!

10oz goblet at Crios DC. Pours a murky neon orange with some clumpy white head. Nose is heavy on the grapefruit, orange rind, candy, pithy, bright. Flavor has a little too much sweetness, heavy grapefruit rind, orange, tangerine, candy, mild pine, soap. Bitter finish. Good.
