Sample at the Downtown location. The beer pours a clear dark amber color with a medium light beige head that recedes steadily. Thin rings of lacing on the glass. Caramel malt aroma with a small spike of hops. Medium body with flavors of bready malt, caramel and hops. The finish is sweet and malty with a short hoppy aftertaste. Unassuming, above average beer.

Sampled on draft at the brewpub, Shirlington location. Clear amber color with a medium head. Good head retention and lacing. Very hoppy aroma with caramel notes. Taste is strong caramel, assertive bitter hops, light fruity notes. Medium bodied. Probably the weakest beer of the eight I tried, which speaks very well of this brewery.
