Bottle in NYC, courtesy of jtclockwork. Pours clear, deep gold with a small, foamy head. Pleasant sweet pumpkin aroma, hints of cinnamon. Medium sweet flavor, toasty bread, lots of autumnal spices like cinnamon and nutmeg, good pumpkin character. Medium bodied with average carbonation. Sweet finish, further nutmeg, plenty of juicy pumpkin, some brown sugar, toasted malts. A classic pumpkin beer.

Sometimes it’s midnight on a Tuesday and u pop a pumpkin ale even though it’s summer. Well this was one of those tuesdays. I have this before but never from bottle. Pours copper with thin head and light thanksgiving spicing on nose. Tastes of nutmeg, vanilla, brown sugar, and butter. It’s thin with not a lot of depth. Not one of the better ones from CL

Location: Updating again with a 12 oz bottle from Buy Rite, now available in NJ!, 9/3/13

Aroma: The aroma is pumpkin spice, some nutmeg, yeast, caramel, some earth
Appearance: It pours an unclear amber color with a frothy beige head and some decent lace
Flavor: Tastes spicy and a little sweet, it pretty much hits the pumpkin spice flavor that I'd expect
Palate: The body is medium, it has a lively carbonation, a sticky feel, and a lengthy finish
Overall Impression: I liked this beer, but I didn't love it. Wow, I didn't remember it at all from last fall, but I am still a Captain Lawrence fan in general. These guys make a heck of a beer, and their pumpkin is no exception...
3.4: 7/3/7/3/14

Location: Updating with a 12 oz bottle from Half Time, 10/4/12

Aroma: The nose is toasted malts, spice/clove, yeast, and some caramel malts
Appearance: It pours a clear orange color with a small off-white head and minimal lace
Flavor: Tastes rather malty, lightly sweet, has minimal bitterness, and lacks in pumpkin flavor
Palate: This one has a decent mouthfeel, a lightish body, soft carbonation, and shortish duration
Overall Impression: I had to go down a bit with the score here, this one just doesn't have enough Pumpkin spice flavor to go any higher then a "6" for me. Otherwise, the bottle version gets the same score as the draft.
3.2: 7/3/6/3/13

Location: Draft at Ginger Man, 11/12/11

Aroma: It has pumpkin spice, yeast, caramel, and some clove, spice, and grass too
Appearance: This one pours a pale-orange color with a white head and light lace
Flavor: Tastes balanced, light-medium sweet, some spice, light-medium hop bitterness
Palate: The body is medium, it has a clean feel, and a somewhat dry and spicy finish
Overall Impression: This isn't a bad pumpkin beer, but it isn't a stand-out either. Certainly plenty sessionable, but overall, a bit lacking. I would have like a little more "punch."

A golden amber ale with a thin white head. In aroma, a nice pumpkin spice with sweet caramel malt. In mouth, a nice crisp malt with smooth pumpkin spices notes, not cloying, a bit oily, quaffable. Cask at Syracuse Real Ale Festival, Oct. 23 2009.

(Draught) Amber and hazy. Medium sized white head. Spices and cranberry in aroma. Medium bodied and dryish palate with medium carbonation. Malts, molasses, spices, bitterness and lightly sea water in taste. Malty and bitter aftertaste. Again a decent pumpkin spice beer.
