What’s that bite of tartness doing in a pumpkin beer? Adding the unexpected kick of cranberry juice to brighten this traditionally spiced seasonal ale. Pumpkick is brewed with plenty of pumpkin juice, cinnamon, nutmeg, and allspice, but it's the cranberries and touch of lemongrass that send your taste buds sailing.

Bottle. Orange golden color. Aroma of pumpkin, nuts, cinnamon and cake. Nice taste of sweet pumpkin, cinnamon spice, caramel cake, wheat and a sweet pumpkin finish. Good cake beer.

Bottle at Len. Deep orange-amber, hazy, with a low head. Crusty pumpkin pie nose, cinnamon, nutmeg, pumpkin and pie crust. Tart, spicy flavor, orange, weird and surprising. Don’t really dig the flavor. Thin and too spicy.

Aroma of cinnamon. I wish I could end it at that, but I need to keep typing. There is no additional aroma or flavor that I could detect, other than a bland bitter maltiness that comes as a result of being a beer. Meh.

Sampled on draft at 3R6P this beer poured a murky red-orange-caramel with a small foamy white head that left good lacing. The aroma was nutmeg, cinnamon and a hint of berry. The flavor was sweet and malty with cinnamon, nutmeg and a bit of red fruits. Medium length finish. Medium body. Solid.

Bottle shared by Brian at Beer Komachi. New Belgium a light orange with a light beige head. The nose is fruity cinnamon & allspice - nice. Medium bodied with a zesty carbonation. The cranberries give it an acidity while the cinnamon and malts give you freshly baked pastry sweetness. I like it though I get zero lemongrass from it.

Draft/Fest. A- Pumpkin, spices, subtle fruits, wheat. A- Amber color, clear liquid, white head. T- Pumpkin, artificial, spices. P- Light body, average texture, average carbonation, off tasting finish. O- Definitely an artificial pumpkin taste and now that I know there is cranberries and lemongrass in here I can see why it had such an odd flavor I didn’t like.
