I though this was pretty solid. Had some on draught in Vermont. Poured a lovely, light amber-brown with a fine head. Aroma of sweet malts. Flavor was rich with a nice malty character and notes of caramel and minor hop presence. Very smooth, clean finish. Would make a great beer to session.

Pours deep mahogany into a shaker. Beige micro head with medium retention recedes to skim surface. Chocolate and caramel malt aromas. Sweet and sharply carbonated with mild nutty and chocolate malts in the dry abrupt finish.

Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a medium red-brown color with a large brown head. The aroma was bitter fruity hops with a touch of citrus. The flavor was bitter, tart and vaguely malty. There was a sour and bitter finish. Felt and tasted watered down. Disappointing.

Bottled. Clear copper colour, fair sized head. Caramely and mid-sweet. Lightly roasty and fairly light bodied with chewy mouthfeel. Dusty and fruity with mature apples and hay. Low bitterness.

Interesting weirdly off aroma when you pop the lid but turns slightly flowery sweet inthe glass. Darker orange brown but translucent. Good initial flavor impressions. Goes down easy. Thin head, fades quickly. If I didn’t know better I would have thought this was an octoberfest, it has many of the qualities. Friendly and refreshing without any offensive bitter hop bite. Certainly like an octoberfest. Rather enjoyable crispy finish.

12oz bottle-pours a light tan head and copper/amber color. Aroma is medium malt, faint medium fruit. Taste is medium malt-some sweet, secondary spice/earthy hops, faint medium fruit, some roasty. Light side of medium body. Easy drinking. OK carbonation. Thanks jwc215 for sharing.

Sample at the Mill Hill Saloon in Trenton, NJ: This beer is a clear pale amber color with a thin white head that dissipates quickly. Spotty lacing on the glass. Aroma of fruit and caramel malt. Medium-bodied with sweet malt and caramel flavors along with some nuts and hops. The finish is moderately sweet at first with a mild hops aftertaste. Drinkable, although mediocre overall.

Second Long Trail beer that i tried. This one has a sweet aroma and then a nice thick taste accompanying it. Nice and smoth taste with a carmelly feel to it. No real bite to it as many ales have, but it is certainly not a bad beer never the less. I’ll drink it again.

Bottled on 8/18/2005 consumed 9/6/2005. A true amber ale in color. A tinge of very light strawberry-auburn on the edges. Light beige-cream-colored head is one-finger high and there are a few spots of lacing. Lots of bubbles, force carbonated no doubt and very clear. Aroma of berry skins, fruit and nuts. Like a chewy granola bar. Fruity, papery and hard flavored crystal malts. Fruitiness from the yeast, I suppose, and some decent 2-row flavor, but just that good ole’ filtered mouthfeel. Unsubstantial and very quickly finishing. Dry, no real sweet malt and in the at respect, at least it’s not overly sweet. But craft beers shouldnt be filtered and force carbonated. We are trying to move away from BMC, not towards. You heard it from me first ;)
