Bottle courtesy of Nate, thanks! Exceedingly dark brown color, beige head. Aroma of dark milk chocolate and light booze. Taste is rich burnt coffee and dark cocoa, some licorice and vanilla. Nice.

Not bad. Pours a thick, dark black with a rather short-lasting, mid-sized, tan head. Aroma is dominated by licorice and alcohol. Flavor is pretty sweet, with the aforementioned licorice, some chocolate and coffee. Not as boozy tasting as some of these high-alcohol stouts. Mouthfeel a bit on the thin side for an imperial stout. But this is a very worthy beer, on the whole.

A decent first attempt. Roasted grain in the aroma, with alcohol. A few flavors common to imperial stouts, moderately roasted grain, some chocolate, and a little soy sauce. Oily texture on the tongue, and the alcohol presence is clear in the aroma and the flavor. Palate is a little thin compared to the better examples.
