Zatecky Gus is enjoyable to drink; it has a pleasant and soft taste with traditional subtle bitterness and has pronounced hoppy aroma.
Zatecky Gus beer is brewed with hops that grow in the vicinity of Žatec, which is known as «the capital of hops» in the Czech Republic. Hops are grown by the Hop Research Institute and are reputed as highest quality hops in the world. Due to them, this sort of beer has inimitable exquisite aroma.

F: big, white, good retention. C: pale gold, clear. A: light malty, grainy, grassy, bit skunky, bit buttery. T: malty, watery grassy, bit grainy, skunky, very light body, medium carbonation, commercial example of bad beer for the style, bit vegetable notes, really nothing tastefully, cheap macro as well but in this shop is for 1,35€ and genuine Pilsner Urquell for 1,15€ ;), 48cl bottle from Mini Mix 30 Russian supermarket, Rue Gray 68, 1040 Brussels.

Exceptionally boring.

1 litre can into shaker. Clear amber beer with light carbonation and large frothy head. Nose is dark fruit, cardboard and pencil shavings. Medium body, easy drinking. Some curtain lacing. Taste is clean with a slightly sour grainy finish. Somewhere between a euro macro-lager and a Pils.

1l can. Clear golden pour with one finger soapy white head. Weak retention, no lacing. Sweet malty nose with usual grain and corn presence, nothing to write home about here. Surprisingly not entirely thin body. Regular texture, soft carbonation. Taste and aroma pretty much the usual macro lager. Bittersweet combo of malts, grains and corn. Notes of grass and hay. Pretty thin and flat. Overall, it works as a quick refreshment during the hot summer days. Otherwise it’s pretty pointless. Mediocre.

Can, 1.00l, shared with colleagues. Clear golden color with thin creamy white head and average sparkling appearance. Aroma of cereals, toasted malts, cooked corn and grass. Tastes sweet malty, a bit grainy and vegetably, while finish is very mild bitter. Light body, thin texture and average carbonation in palate. Not so bad, if you like sweet beers...

500 ml bottle served in flute. Golden colour, foam head disappears quickly. Grain and hay aroma. Taste is not that bitter for a Pils and flat. Smell is nice though, better than the taste. Carbonation average. Quite boring, but drinkable.
