Iron Tankard is the first of four beers in Terrapin's Georgia Theatre Sessions. It is brewed with a generous portion of crystal malts for a full body and is lightly hopped. This malt forward beer has flavors of dark dried fruit, mellow alcoholic warmth and is unfiltered for your listening pleasure.
A portion of the proceeds will be donated to the Georgia Historic Trust for Historic Preservation Fund to rebuild the Georgia Theater. To make things even more interesting, there is one Golden Ticket hidden among each of the Georgia Theater Sessions brews.

Bottle. It pours a muddy orange/brown color with a small head. The aroma is super oxidized. Lots of prune, raisin, caramel, sherry and hints of cocoa. The flavor is the same. Muddled and oxidized. Prunes and almonds. Alcohol is felt pretty strongly. Stale on the palate with low carbonation. I’m not sure how old this bottle is, but it has not aged well.

22oz bottle I’ve had in the cellar for a few years. Pours a murky, deep brown with some frothy head that settles like Guinness at first and then faded into a lacing, creamy beige. Nose has raisins, brandy, butterscotch, toffee, malt, some bananas foster. Flavor is big with butterscotch, sweet but not cloying, toffee, rum, brandy, raisins, dates too, a little Fig Newton, a bit oxidized. Full bodied, with a touch of alcohol burn but fairly smooth. Surprised this held up this well, but I also bet this is peaking.

22 oz bottle. Dark brown body with a medium beige head. Aroma of caramel malt, toffee, dry fruit and some alcohol. Flavor is sweet malt, caramel, dry fruit, brown sugar and warming alcohol. Smooth and moderate bitter, quite true to style. Fine body and the aftertaste are smooth with a pleasant hint of oxidation.

Bomber 4037 of 4884; from Charleston Beer Exchange. Pours hazy dark amber with a near creamy beige head. Aroma suggests cola with light fruits. Near full bodied. Flavor is caramel with fruity notes. Still seems rather cola. It’s pleasant and the heat is fairly well concealed. HInts of treacle and chocolate come forth with time.

Bottle 1324 - no Golden ticket :-( Clear dark brown body with a tall 3dimensional tan head. Complex malt profile - caramel and dried fruits. Smooth sweet creamy. Very nice.

Bottle shared by Adam. Poured a cloudy brown with a gray brown head that dissipated slowly. Aroma had sweet malts, mainly cereal and bread, with a bit of backing pine and a hint of alcohol. Flavor was a bit more boozy with the cereal and bread still the main notes with a bit of caramel coming out in the finish.

22 oz. bottle at the Brick Store Pub. Pours a lovely dark copper color with about two fingers of white frothy head. The aroma is malts, nuts, and a musty, old basement smell. The flavor is immediately sweet, with a long, bitter aftertaste. The palate is sticky and syrupy. Overall, a tasty and interesting beer.
