Bottled. Pours dark. Big beige head. Kind of a weird malty grainy aroma. Weird citrus and malts.

Rare bottle, big thanks to Sean! Says black ale on the label but looks more like a dark reddish brown brew. Nice alabaster head. Smell’s a little malty, with a roasty nose. Taste is more mild than expected. Yes, it does have a building medium roasted bitterness about it, but its nothing offensive, quite enjoyable, civilized & well mannered. As the session continues, it comes across like a creamy brew with a like-able temperament. Some astringent bite settles in near the middle. In the end, it’s simply a decently dark beer with lots of good ol’ beery attributes. Yes, that slight astringentness is always there but it fades quickly after each slug. Sort of a cross between a schwartzbier and a milder pale ale. Not really sure if this is a porter but it’s not bad!

Deep dark brown coloured body with a nice, three centimetre tall light brown head. Aroma of roasted malt, coffee, oatmeal, alcohol, cherries, lactose and a little bit of alcohol. Medium to Full-bodied; Strong rich malty flavour with some oatmeal, cherries, milk, grain and alcohol all noticeable and a smooth coffee flavour near the end. Aftertaste shows a lot of chocolate ranging from very light milk chocolate to some darker notes, but some mellow alcohol flavours and a bit of heavy oats near the end as well. Overall, a good and smooth beer, full of flavour and more importantly - full of character and body, nice to try and well worth finding if you can get this and have had a lot of lighter beers and IPAs! I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from Cash Wise Liqours in Minot, North Dakota on 04-October-2016 for US$10,99/six pack sampled at my hotel room here in Morrisville, Pennsylvania on 14-Occtober-2016.

Pours a black with reddish hues, small tannish head of foam.
The smell has a little bit of roasted malt, a hint of chocolate. .not much really going on here.
Same goes for the taste. Light flavours all around but it is still a decent beer.
Light bodied with medium carbonation.
Not a bad Black Ale.
On draught at the Wonder Bar.

22oz bottle pours a viscous, opaque black with some cloudy, brown head. Nose is sweet, crackers, brown bread, a little cake icing. Flavor is malty, sweet, toasty, roasty, caramel, molasses, black pepper. Medium bodied, dry finish.

Bomber from Whole Foods in Davis, CA. Pours very dark brown with a foamy tan head. Aroma is mix of chocolate, Belgian yeast/spice, dark malt. Med body, almost. Flavor is schwarzbier with extra chocolate, burnt malt, and a decent level of what might be herbal hop. Pretty tasty, tho if counted as porter it might be a bit off. Finishes towards dry, with some mild bitter.

Tap @ Crazy Mountain. Pours a deep brown appearance with a brown head. Cocoa, roasty dark chocolate malty, slightly burnt, vanilla aroma. Fairly dry, burnt chocolate, herbal, chewy earthy flavor. Not bad.
