Bottle. Clear golden color, few bubbles. Aroma of apples, pear. Taste is similar with a bit of tannin. OK.

Bottle. Oaky, musty apple, light whiskey aroma. Hazy honey gold, fizzy white skiff of bubbles. Oak, light booze, and musty apple flavor. Light fizzy body, dry finish. Different, but I like it.

Refrigerated 12 oz. brown bottle poured into a white wine glass. Pours clear light amber, very little head, no lacing, no carbonation, and light wood aroma. Taste is oak, some water down soft whiskey, and a hint of apple which peaks out occationally. A little more apple taste would have been nice, not my thing.

12 ounce bottle from Franklin’s in Gaithersburg. Pours a clear amber color with a thin fizzy white head. Aroma of apples, wood and brown sugar. The taste is apple, pear, faint whisky notes. Medium bodied.

A much appreciated bottle from ericandersnavy! Pours hazy orange gold with a few transient bubbles. An oaky/smoky aroma. Med body with coarse carbonation. Flavor is apple with a touch of treacle and some smoke and seemingly bourbon. Some sort of whisky anyway. And at 8% there isn’t really any heat. So here’s a cider that can proudly stand beside beer. Good drink.

Bottle from New Beer. New bar code sticker. Rounded pint glass. Slight initial fizz. Murky orange body. Smell is sweet with apple must, scrumpy, pie crust, & faint whiskey. Bitter orange peel macerating in all that whiskey. Fumy & enticing. Taste is spiked scrumpy, deep fibrous/tannic wood notes, maybe a bit of maple. Lots of sediment. Lacking acidity. Different enough & not totally boozy. It can’t help but be flat. Dusty, dry grain finish. This thing has legs! No way is it just 8.3%.

Bottle via LtDan. Why does Crispin insist on mentioning that their ciders should be served with ice on every bottle. Pours with a murky yellow body and a fleeting white head. Bubbles cling to the glass. Some light legs on the glass as well surprisingly. Aroma of apples, oak, a bit buttery, saw dust, a bit acidic. Candied fruits. Kind of sweet. Estery. A bit of a sharp whiskey character (reminiscent of Jack) as it warms. Taste. It doesn’t work very well. Flavors are muddled. Acidic and oaky with a flabby middle and a somewhat sweet finish. A bit of a Tennessee Whiskey, harsh charcoal, wood finish. Medium carbonation. Medium dry (for a real cider, super dry compared to regular Crispin products). Kind of a harsh finish. Despite all the components there really isn’t anything there; its muddled and a bit bland.

12 oz bottle. Pours cloudy golden orange with a touch of carbonation. Sweet apple juice aroma with a tart note and mild, but detectable whiskey aroma. Flavor is fairly sweet apple juice with spiciness, tartness, and yeastiness. Whiskey is just barely hinted at, but there is a touch of plain old wood aging. Finishes tart with a brown sugar note in the aftertaste. Lightly carbonated mouthfeel, as it appeared. Fairly nice.
