Moa St Josephs is a classic Belgian Tripel. Strong spice, caramel and banana ester characters create complex flavours and aromas which are heightened by its extended bottle conditioning period. The combination of bittering hops, malt and candy sugars compliment the high alcohol content and integrate into a very approachable and drinkable Tripel.

Bottle into small tulip glass. Basic hop nose. Cloudy amber with lasting white head. Champagne carbonation. Smooth caramel taste. Finish is smoky/sour with alcohol notes. Raisins present. Not really my thing.

375mL bottle, pours a cloudy dirty orange with a small beige head. Nose brings out Belgian spices, Belgian yeast, and some light fruity esters. Flavour is on the sweeter side, with candied sugar, Belgian yeast, and smoky phenols. Not the most complex tripel, but certainly not bad. Decent.

Draught at the Pumphouse, Richmond
Hazy blond color with a golden hue. Lightly spicy, too much alcohol, lean body, a bit oily.
Not exciting.

Pours gold into a tulip. White head with good retention recedes to hug rim. Tropical fruit, biscuit and funk aromas. Sweet caramel and hot toffee biscuits upfront turning earthy in the medium length burn finish.

Bottle (trade with Patrickctenchi for an oxidized Klingon beer 4-pack). Musty lemon peel and malt aroma. Hazy golden yellow with giant white head. Sweet-musty lemon malt and bitter lemon peel flavor. Not bad.

Bottle from Beer Run. Pours a hazy orange color with a medium sized fizzy off-white head. Good head retention. Aroma of citrus, yeast, butterscotch, spice. The taste is butterscotch, caramel, herbal hops, citrus and yeast. Medium bodied, slight heat, a bit cloying.

375 ml bottle. Pours a hazy light gold color with moderate head. Aromas of toast, very light citrus, and a hint of banana/yeast. Somewhat buttery flavor for a Triple. Rich and smooth. Definite fruit esters with doughy notes. Interesting.

Bottle: Pours cloudy, deep yellow-gold with a thin white cap. Malt, light fruit aroma. Taste is nectary-sweet...pear and yeast, lemon.. Light spicing and malt.. Just gets sweeter as it warms. Nice.
