From my dear brother: Pours black with a creamy head. Some salty pretzel smell, dark chocolate malt, and a hint of coffee. Taste is lightly bitter. It is very dry, Leaves some lingering dryness and dark chocolate. Not bad.

Draft at Calgary brewfest. Dark maroon color, tan head. Nice aroma of rich cocoa. Taste is equally rich coffee grounds. Very nice.

Sampled on tap at St. Augustine's, pours a dark brown with a small beige head. Aroma of toasted nuts, baker's chocolate, bread and dry roast. Flavour of oatmeal, dry roast, bitter chocolate and toasted nuts. Light-bodied for a stout and quite bitter. Could use some sweeter notes to balance off the dry, bitter palate. Decent, but thin.

Bottle thanks to savvy1982. Pours with a black body and a tan head that fades rather quickly. Aromas of chocolate, nuts, grain, a bit of coffee. Not a whole lot, seems like a rather weak aroma. Flavors, again, I’m getting surprisingly little (and it is not like my palate is shot, the previous beers were an ESB and a small lager). Some graininess and bitterness. A bit of roasted malt and associated acidity. Some coffee. Some biscuity flavors. Lively bubbles. Kind of a bland stout.

A deep dark gushing stout with a thick big bubbled moka head. A pleasant aroma of cherries and chocolate, with light coffee notes. In mouth, a nicely balanced stout, with bitter chocolate, a bit of soy, good roasted bitterness, medium bodied. A tad overcarbonated. Bottle from Piscator34, thanks Chris.

Bottled at pre-RBJG festivities in Kyoto. Opaque black, beige head. Mild caramel and tar aroma. Dryish with plenty of cocoa powder. Failry light bodied with notes of ice coffee. Long salty bitterness.

Bottle at the RBJG. Thanks to TimE. Black with a lacy head. Rather harsh aroma of soy sauce, coffee, burnt caramel. Rich, creamy, roasted-malt flavor. Well burnt, a bit fruity, with ok sweetness but somewhat harsh finish. Thin for an oatmeal.

Black, large lasting tan head.Salty dry malt nose.Sweet malt profile, light but good roasty bitterness. Good lace. Too thin

Black with a small, beige head. Aroma is strong. Roasted malts, coffee, cocoa, molasses and smoke with just a little oatmeal. Body is a little thin. Flavor is coffee, roasted malts, some cocoa, smoke, dark fruits, nutty. Where is the oatmeal? Flavor was a little dissapointing following the aroma. Still, a good stout.
