Our clementine-crusher, The Light That Spills Out of the Hole in Your Head is back for the first time in many moons. Spun from a base of 2-row, malted and flaked oats and hopped with Columbus and Amarillo before a killer dry-hopping of Amarillo, Mandarina Bavaria (for even more citrus punch!) and Cascade. The Light That Spills... then spends a short but sweet amount of time slumbering on a bed of bright and citrus-y clementine puree.

On tap at Isaac Newton’s in Newtown, PA. The number one Flavored Pale Ale on RateBeer! BING BONG! Cloudy, orange gold color. Small, creamy beige head dissipates to a thin cap. Sweet aromas of tangerine and peach. Flavor is more tangy than sweet. Big orangey notes upfront. Citrus and stone fruit rule here. Grapefruit, lemon, apricot and unripe peach flavors stand out. Biscuity malt holds this together well. Some peppery, piney notes in the bitter finish. Yum!

8oz pour at the brewery. Pours a hazy yellow with some frothy, white head. Zesty nose, orange, chive, garlic scape, tangerine, soap, pine. Flavor is nice, citrus peel bite, lemon, soap, some yeast, orange. Zesty, bitter, refreshing finish. Really good. Very drinkable.

1L growler, sent from callmemickey (thanks a lot, Ryan), pours a hazy pale golden with a small white head. Aroma brings out piney hops, a bit of caramel-tinged biscuity malt, and some citrusy notes. Flavour brings out loads of floral hops, pine, and some biscuity malts - a slight tangerine quality to it. Very refreshing and full of flavour for a 5% beer. Excellent stuff.

Filled 3 days ago at Tired Hands, 2L growler kept in the fridge, enjoyed in a wine glass

A - Almost no head formed, slightly hazy burnt orange

S - Nose is very piney with lemon juice

T - Not too sweet or dry, low ABV as far as taste, almost a pilsener in the lemony notes. Pine cone finish.

M - Not a lot of carbonation (possibly from growler) but very drinkable.

O - Great beer, great summer beer, nicely balanced. awesome.
