Our brew team has a Kiwi member again, so we have been really keen to brew an IPA showcasing ‘heaps’ of fantastic New Zealand hops! Pouring a pale gold, it bursts with cascading aromas of peach and apricot. The taste is powerful with stone fruit, marmalade and lemon zest at the fore. It finishes dry and refreshing with a clean, floral bitterness.

Hops: Maui Nelson, Motueka, Nectaron, Wai-iti
Malts: Low Colour Maris Otter, Wheat Malt, Oat Malt, Carapils

Panda at home, thanks to Kenneth, 29/07/2026.
Hazed golden orange topped with a just off white head.
Nose is orange zest, grass, papaya, melon.
Taste comprises grapefruit zest, grass, light pine, melon, soft malts.
Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close splashed with light juicy hop bitterness.
Okay easy drinker but would have preferred a little more hop presence.

440ml can. Hazy golden with a white head. Aroma of stone fruits, floral, zesty citrus, grape. Taste of stone fruits, peach, grape, melon, zesty grapefruit, lemon, faint vinous notes, light hop bitterness. Medium-ish bodied.
Expected a bit more from the hops but otherwise a solid NZ IPA.

Can. A mild haze on this gold beer, small pale cream colour head. Airy smooth palate, modest fine carbonation. Light soft pale malts, a pleasant light creamy sweetness. The Kiwi hops deliver a light Nelson grapey tang and slightly floral fruits. Mild and mildly tangy stone fruits on the back end. Light finish. Hmmm. Lacks a bit of crispness and hop punch. Feels soft and tastes polite.

Can. Mitchell’s Wines. Hazed lemon gold. Very slim white head. Nose definitely delivers on the NZ hoppage. Lemon and lime. Sweet white grape. Bit of melon. Clean dry grain. Taste has a little sweetness first off with dryness and firm bitterness. Drinks easy. Lingering moderate bitterness to finish. Decent NZ tackle.
