Bottle. Poured dark red with foamy white head. Faint aroma of malt, a little hop, a little milk. Slim flavour is malt with a little butter. Not unpleasant, and the butteriness is not very noticeable. Thin finish, a little bitterish. Not unpleasant on a muggy day, but not a rave.

(Draught in Dublin on 2008-07-01) Deep amber. Clear. Quite dense medium-sized white head. Weak malty nose. Medium palate with some carbonation. Sweet malts, hops and bread in taste. Some fruitiness and liquorice, too.

Pours deep amber into a shaker. Off-white micro head with good retention leaves spot lacing as it recedes to skim surface. Mild malt aromas. Crisp caramel from front to back. Not a whole lot going on here...

I like this beer. Much better on tap but still tasty in a bottle. Good flavor but pretty simple. Look forward to one day drinking one in Ireland

bottle. Pours a dark amber color with a medium frothy off white head that lasts awhile. The aroma is a strong malt. Decent lacing on this one. The taste is very malty with a dry bitter finish. This was a good Irish Ale from the brewers of Guinness.

On tap. Reddish in color, head was mostly gone by the time it got to the table. Good solid ale, with large malt flavor. Starting to see this brew everywhere.

Bottle: Pours a amber brown color with a lasting beige head. Aroma of malt and grass, not really that pleasant. Taste is more malty, hints of caramel, nuts, and hints of roasted malt. A bland, faceless finish.

Can. A clear, golden beer with a decent, off-white head. It has a boring, but not bad, aroma of mostly burnt caramel. The flavor is more on the malty side, but there’s some caramel as well. Thin-bodied boring beer, with almost no finish, just some vague grain- and malt-notes. Boring! (070213)
