This one I actually don’t mind that much. Classic has a little bit of malt sweetness and a tad of hop bitterness. Not really offensive. Decent really.

50 cl can from a 7-11 in Hong Kong. Yellow color, average white head. Aroma is pretty good, actually a real lager, grainy with a proper hops balance. Taste sweetish with a decent bitter finish, light bodied and highly carbonated, similar to average EU lagers, and hence being a 4.5 it does have some flavour.

Can. I buy this at the convenient store, thinking, "Yeah, that’s one I haven’t rated for some reason." Then I start worrying that I have and if so I don’t want it. Well I haven’t. Drank it several times I suppose over the years, but not in a few. Let’s see how it goes. Malty nose with cereals and pretty nice hops--grass and citrus too. Nothing special, but ok start. Look ok, deep gold with a medium, fine head. Flavor is grainy and the adjuncts start kicking in, but there is rich malt flavor and still decent hops. A touch of lemon, decent bitterness. This is said to be hoppier and bitterer than the regular Kirin Lager, and it is. Definitely better. Actually, it might be the best of the adjunct beers made by the big 4 in Japan. Actually quite drinkable--something I would choose out of the cooler, though probably will never need to buy again.

Can: Poured a golden color with fluffy white head. Aroma was sour grain. Taste is sweet grain and malt.

Pale golden coloured body with a hint of cloudiness, a billion small bubbles rising from the bottom and a centimetre thick white head. Aroma of pale malt, skunk and a bit of metal - not so great. Light-bodied; Sharp metallic flavour at first with some earthy malt, a hint of light hops and a few sugars tucked in to the metallic and pungent flavour. Aftertaste shows a grassy herbal taste with the metal notes and a small sweetness. Overall, a fairly standard lager with more of a metallic and herbal note than most. I sampled this 35 cL can purchased from 7-11 in Akasaka, Tokyo, Japan on 04-August-2010 sampled at home in Washington on 15-March-2012.

Can from a groucery store. Very basic lager. Light golden colour with a small head. Light sweetness and light bitterness in both aroma and taste.

Gold with a large white head. Classic Japanese pale lager aroma of sweet malt, corn and yeast. Mouth is thin, but smooth. Flavor is boring. Malts overwhelm the tastebuds followed by light hops. Like most other pale lagers it’s not bad, just not worth a second chance.
