Bottle from Cotteridge Wines; cloudy light brown pour with a creamy off white head, definite whiff of cognac along with some dark fruits, taste has sweet dark candied fruits, dark sugars, powdery yeast, wood, three barrels, sultanas, spice, ABV is very present, a shame Partizan don’t make it to the midlands anymore.

Keg at Beavertown on the Rainbow Day bash, 13/09/14. Hazed reddish amber with a good sized light beige covering that retains very well. Nose is cognac fumes, sweet toffee, spice, dark fruit rinds, rich fruit cake tones. Taste comprises dates, tangy dark fruits, toffee fudge, spice, boozey tones, cognac evident. Full bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with warming alcohol. Decent BA quad.

On tap at the Beavertown brewery. Hazy dark amber. Lasting dark beige head. Some Belgian esters. Some cognac brandy flavour. Sweet. But pretty tasty. Fruity. Oranges. Just didn’t blow me away.

Keg at beavertown at the launch. Hazed nice bright red orange with a steadfast cream head. Aroma is sweet caramel, honey malts, light musty, unrefined sugars and Belgian yeast. Flavour is sweet caramel, unrefined sugar, calvedos barrel, smooth alcohol warmth. Palate is quite sweet, full body and moderate alcohol. Hides the alcohol really well. Tasty quad.

Keg at Beavertown with a thick beige head. The nose is rich, woody, toffee, cognac, dried fruits, boozy, resin, permanent marker pen, vanilla, marzipan and candy. The taste is rich, bitter, boozy, wood, cognac, dried fruits, banana pulp, raisins, date, prune, dried fig, mild spice, some astringency, with a dry, warming finish. Full body , fine carbonation and oily mouth-feel. Rich and boozy...
