Draft @ Beer Temple. Light brown beer. Very sweet taste of malt and raisin, quite yeasty as well. Hint of licorice in the aftertaste. Barrel aging is hard to notice, the beer has a warming boozy layer, but that could just be the high alcohol. Too one-dimensional and sweet.

Small sample at Beer Temple. Hazy orange amber colour, thin off-white head. Aroma of lots of sweetness, oranges, wood, dead yeast, alcohol/spirit, fruits. Flavour is very sweet, yeasty, alcohol, fruity, sticky, orange, bitter finish with some wood. Medium to full-bodied. Didn’t like it.

Very hazy deep amber beer, good pale cream colour head. Palate is airy and slightly soft. Modest fine carbonation. Smooth light malts, trace of toffee. Mild dried fruits. Mild cream. Touch of sherry. Smooth semi dry finish. Warming afterglow. Tasty and quite mellow. 7.3

Just a light haze amber beer, small bubbly pale tan head. Fairly light palate, a mild dryness, good fine minerally carbonation. Soft malts, a little malt cream and a little caramel. The cognac barrel sits smoothly, ripe brandy fruits and a nice degree of oak induced vanilla. Soft ripe fruity finish. Has aged but, has aged very well. The oxidisation sits well here.

Bottle, from Siren. Hazy amber. Plenty of off white, tight, lasting head. Thick, boozy, woody, Cognac. There’s some fresh hop in there. Brown sugar thing aids cohesion. Taste is date fruit sweet. Quite dry. Creamy, banana ester booziness on the palate. Finishes light, brûléed bitter. Dry close. Enjoyed this. I reckon a year in the cellar would do wonders with it.

Bottle at the "Dean is a cheap bastard tasting cos he let Rene buy a beer from the shop and then asked to taste it for the tick" tasting. Thanks John! Hazy orange color, small to medium sized off-white head. Aroma is malts, quite fruity, a touch of alcohol and even a touch of hops there. Taste malts, again quite fruity, lightly alcohol, a touch of liquor. Medium body and carbonation. I really like this. Very well balanced.

Bottle at the "Dean is a cheap bastard tasting cos he let Rene buy a beer from the shop and then asked to taste it for the tick" tasting. Poured a clear amber colour with a frothy white head. The aroma is aniseed medicinal. The flavour is moderate sweet, light bitter, light sweet with a rich woody resin alcoholic bitter earthy mineral palate. Medium bodied with average carbonation.

330ml bottle from Siren. Pours clear amber, thin white head. Aromas of cognac, marzipan, orange. Taste is boozy and sweet, dried fruit, oranges and cream. Not much Belgian character, but enjoyable enough.
