Fra kran på Haand Ølfestival 30 Mai 15 som Blue Quad. . Delt med Rune. Mørk skittengulbrun. Uklar. Forsiktig sjokoladearoma. Smaken balansert. Preg av sjokolade. Alkoholen godt kamuflert. Bra - men litt uvariert.

Bottle at home, 9th October 2015. Pours dark amber, pretty clear after a year or age. Aroma is liquor, malt, pleasant. Taste is sweet, but off set by cognac liquor notes. Tasty barrel beer

On tap, as Blue Quad 10 % abv, at Haandbryggeriet Beer Festival 2015. Filmy layer blanketing the glass. Cloudy apricot body content. Mid-sweet fruity smell, woody. Taste of caramel, bread, and jammy fruits. Dry, lightly spiced bitter end. Well bodied. Nice. Shared with Finn (Drammen 30.05.2015).

Draught @ Haand Ølfestival 2015, Drammen
Pours hazy copper with a white head. Aroma has notes of malt, caramel, dried fruits, alcohol and oak. Taste is medium sweet and light bitter with a long warm, fruity, caramel and oak finish. Body is full, texture is oily, carbonation is soft.

Bottle at home in London - many thanks to Kenny for scooping this off Beermerchants for me. Pours clear ruby with a thick, creamy tan head - quite an attractive beer. Lots of ripe and gooey fruits in the aroma, some buttery toffee, berries, dates, plum. Medium to heavy sweet flavor with rich and creamy malt character, further toffee, some vanilla accents, stewed apples, raspberry, plum, bread. Full bodied, chewy, with fine to average carbonation and velvety texture. Warming finish with lots more bready, lightly toasted malts, gooey ripe fruits, touches of syrup, faint wood, more plum, vanilla, figs and dates. Quite robust but it certainly drinks well for the strength.

330ml bottle @ Siren Rainbow tasting, Jan 15, at Chez Sophie. Pours hazy deep brown with small white head. Aroma is soft boozy dark fruits. Taste presents a cognac influence that really chimes with the quadrupel fruitcake flavours. Absolutely beautiful.

Bottle, shared between three of us as we broached the 7 Rainbow brews (2014) in Shrewsbury on 26th Jan 2015. Impressive brew. Poured a hazy amber, the weak, off-white head tried to hang around but failed. The nose had a mixed fruit and malty lead with some spice wood notes. Sweet malty molasses in the taste, with again some spicy woody traces, slight cognac/brandy flavour with the accompanying alcohol feel. Really good.
