Naturally fermented with authentic Sake yeast using a premium blend of fresh pressed apple juice, not from concentrate, with no added malt, spirit, or grape alcohol. A racy, high-speed cider that remains crisp and well balanced. Cloudy and straw colored with an exotic polished complexity. Cho-tokkyu is clean, vibrant with an authentic dry sake nish and a distinctive apple backbone. Cho-tokkyu Artisanal Reserve cloudy hard cider is unfitered and uses racked apple wine smoothed with pure organic, gluten free, rice syrup. No added colorants, sorbate or benzoate preservatives. Best served cool to cold. As with all our Artisanal Reserves, give a full bottoms-up tilt and swirl to disperse unfiltered apple-wine sediment evenly.

Kind of an interesting idea that just doesn’t play out. Appearance is a flat pale yellow. Aroma is fresh apple cider with some sake overtones that sort of work, if you’re into that kind of thing. Personally, I’ve had much better. Ok body. Short finish.

A hazed golden cider with aroma of tart apples, light mineral notes, light Brett, pleasant. In mouth, a light sweet apple pulp with light lemony notes, watery bodied, so-so.

Refrigerated brown bomber poured into a white wine glass. Pours hazy super pale with no head. Aroma is really light apple, medium body, medium carbonation, and really soft. Taste is light apple. Too plain.

Bottle. Murky milky yellow color, coca cola head. Aroma actually does remind me of sake, but that could just be my imagination. Taste s bitter lemon and apple flesh. Interesting.

Ingredients: ...Natural Apple Essence. Bottle from Charles St. Liquors in Mass. Swirled per directions. Hazy, very pale, gold body. Smells of pears, candy, & cooked grain. Fermented fruitiness. Tastes like white table wine. Lemon. Calcified texture. Faint, powdered sugar sweetness. Moderately high acidity, not much tartness. Carbonation is fleeting. Reviews seem to suggest that this one has a very short(or at least inconsistent) shelf life.

Bottle. Pours with a lightly hazed lemonade hued body with some foam that fizzes away quickly. Aromas are of rubbing alcohol, starchy, fusel, estery, pears, earthy, light banana, and apple. A bit of rubber. Flavors show a medium to medium low acid balance, tart, starchy, alcohol, rubber. Medium to full carbonation, a bit of acidity, some sulfur. Dry finish.

Pours hazy, pale lemon into a shaker. No head whatsoever. Sour apple and mild sake aromas. Thin and almost still with mild apple and pear from front to back. Dry alcohol free sake-like finish.

Very, very rubbery apple nose, new volatile rubber. Hazy lime green. Dry, crisp, and exceptionally clean. Slightly acidic and has body, but the flavor is virtually imperceptible. It’s like thick tangy water with the impression of apples. None of the awful phenolics are present on the palate. I expected weird, but not this kind of weird. Weak overall. I really can’t rate this any higher.

Bottle @ home. Very cloudy, whitish yellow appearance with no head. Definitely has that rice syrupy, sake aroma with bread, light apple and pear notes. Tart, light red apple juicy, rice/sake, slight yeast/bread flavor. Interesting enough but I probably wouldn’t buy it again.
