Tap at Winterbierfestival, Gouda: Dark brown brew with roasted malts, caramel and dried fruit taste, and an good balanced bitter finish.

(Draught at In De Wildeman, Amsterdam, 23 Feb 2013) Dark brown colour with frothy, beige head. Malty, roasted nose with notes of caramel, raisins, prunes and spicy hints of yeast. Malty, roasted taste with dark rye bread, prunes, raisins, coffee, chocolate and a slightly spicy bitterness in the finish. Almost full body, with a certain sweetness. Tasty and quite well balanced. Nice one.

On tap at NHBF’13. Hazy dar reddish amber colour, off-white head. Aroma of liquorice, Christmas spice, some star anise, dark fruits. Flavour is sweet, malty, fruity, forest fruits, liqourice, light bitter alcohol finish. Medium-bodied. Nice enough.

Sampled @ PINT Winterbierfestival Gouda 2013. Dark brown color, full sized beige head that leaves good lacing. Smell and taste malts, dark fruits, raisins, a touch of fruitpeel-bitter and some leaves. Medium body and carbonation.

Bottle. Dark maroon color, large light brown head, solid lacing. Aroma if chocolate and coffee. Taste is similar.
