Overall Impression: A nice beer, pretty strong, and some of the ABV comes with a bit of an alcohol burn. Nice balanced flavor that leaned toward the malty side. A pretty solid brew.

Pour is a dark red with no head at all. Aroma is very sweet with some molasses and toffee. Flavor is lots of dark fruit following up again with the sweetness. Finish is very thick and cloying with the alcohol making an appearance especially as this gets warmer. Glad i got to try it but probably don’t want another.

Dark brown coloured body with crimson highlights and a super-thin off-white head. Aroma of water, malt, light coffee and some nuts noticeable. Medium-bodied; Stronger taste of roasted malt, caramel, toffee and a little bitterness. Aftertaste remains strong, only a bit of malt and caramel present. Overall, a decent beer - lacking for a winter in my mind...but good to try; Especially in the first days of Summer! I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from Chevy Chase Wine & Liquors on 23-June-2005 at Jon(R888710)’s.

Walnut, roasted malt, and yeast aroma. Clear brown pour, medium vanishing head. Strangely sour and astringent roasted malt. Chocolate on the palate.

Bottle. Pours mahogany w/ a medium head that does not last. Aroma is caramel and those little banana pieces from runts. Taste is smooth and very sweet. Hop taste is absolutely missing. This is pretty good.

No obtruse initial odor. Shadowy rootbeer appearance. Rather flat. Taste engenders alt at first but builds an alky knot and woody seasoned spices. Smooth but that alky keeps peeking out. Each slug has a coating syrup back of throat effect. Not quite as good as Breckenridge Autumn Ale.

Bottle from Cornboy, Thanks; mose is sweet, dark fruit and caramel; clear cherry brown with a small beige head; flavor of caramel malt, a mocha hint, and a hop note in the medium body. The finish is minor hops bitterness and some alcohol.

bottle sample at Dark Lord Day - Pours very dark brown with roast malts and chocolate in the light aroma. I was picking up a lot of coffee in the roast malt flavor. I thought it almost tasted like a stout. The finish was dry. It is warming as advertised. It could be a touch more full. Pretty good though.
