Hazy copper with a small off-white head. Malty aroma with toffee, along with some pine hops and dried fruit notes and quite a bit of alcohol. Sweet toffee and biscuit flavour with fruity hops and a firm bitterness

clear dark brown, smooth offwhite head. rathier mild old ale aroma, slight fruitiness, some malts. flavor is very dry dark caramelly, normal to sweet malty, faint dark chocolate, faint cristmas spicy note. Also a flavor like the dark fruits in a belgian quad. Raisins, plums. A barley wine with a flavor profile that resembles brown ale a bit, but also lends from other heavy brews (except the roasted ones), pretty complex and quite tasty. I’d put it down as an american strong ale instead of barley wine. The hop profile is very subdued, and doesn’t add much flowers and even not much bitterness for an american brew.

Bottle at Jan & Charlottes tasting, Ulfborg, Denmark 09.04.11 cheers Jan & Charlotte Murky chestnut brown with a light beige head which soon disappears. Some fruit n the nose, heavy sweetness and a bit harsh in the mouth. Bittersweetness coming through, not as smooth or as rounded as the description suggest. A5 A3 T6 P3 Ov11 2.8

Sample at the brewpub. The beer is a reddish-brown color with a medium beige head that diminishes steadily. Rings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of caramel malt and hops. Rich body with flavors of sweet caramel, grainy malt and resiny hops. The finish is hoppy with a fruity aftertaste. Good Barley Wine overall.

Tap @ Hamiltons, San Diego. Pours dark brown, beige head. Aroma is malty, caramel, dark fruits. Taste, dark fruits - fig, caramel malts, thick mouthfeel, some good alcohol with a fruity finish, some brown sugar. One fine tasty barley wine.
