A hazy amber beer with a thin light brown head. The aroma is sweet alcohol with notes of fresh fruit mixed with prunes. The flavor is alcoholic and warming with notes of fruits and prunes, and with a good hop presence in the end.

Draft. Dark mahogony color with a beige head. Summer fruit aroma (strawberry) with caramel malts. Caramel flavor, some strawberry fruit flavors, and light hop. Rich body, nice balance, hides alcohol well. Smooth, but nothing outstanding.

Deep amber color with a typically reserved Barleywine head. Decent malt/hop aroma. Well balanced flavor of malt and hops. Good solid overall Barleywine which isn’t either bad or outstanding.

Deep red brown copper ale with an alchohol and fruity aroma, wth strong floral hops notes. Sweet malt and floral hops, with strong notes of plums or prunes. More hops in final. Rich bodied with alcohol warmth coming well.

Bottled, thanks marbles! Dark ruby, flat. Chocolatey and buttery nose. Very full bodied. The mouthfeel is bold and clumsy. Sweet, yet salty, raw and grainy. There’s loads of alcohol, and also loads of other flavour, but all is in a mess that I can’t sort out.

Hey! Isn’t that the Moylan’s label? Quite a different beer, though. Poured red-brown with a medium light tan head. Strong, very toasty raisin/caramel aroma. The flavor began with classic piney/citrusy hops, but developed a very sweet, tangy caramel and raisin malt profile, almost nearing soy and/or honey notes. The sweetness and flavor components are reminiscent of Thomas Hardy’s or J.W. Lee’s barleywines and are unusual for an American version of the style. This barleywine also had a very yeasty, "ozoney" (don’t ask me to translate that) feel. Good barleywine, but not great. Thanks Mike (BBB63) for the sample of this brew.
