A surprisingly sublime Belgian-style triple offering an electrifying blend of spicy aromatics balanced with a lively malt palate that is so good it’s scary.

22 ounce bottle into chalice, no bottle dating. Pours fairly crystal clear golden amber color with a 1 finger dense and fluffy white head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Spotty soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a moderate amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of apricot, lemon, pear, apple, light banana, clove, pepper, herbal, grass, candi sugar, bread, light bubblegum, and herbal/yeast earthiness. Damn nice aromas with good balance and complexity of fruity/spicy yeast, pale malt, and earthy hop notes; with good strength. Taste of big apricot, lemon, pear, apple, light banana, clove, pepper, candi sugar, bread, herbal, grass, light bubblegum, and herbal/yeast earthiness. Good amount of earthy yeast spiciness on the finish; with lingering notes of apricot, lemon, pear, apple, light banana, clove, pepper, herbal, grass, candi sugar, bread, light bubblegum, and herbal/yeast earthiness on the finish for a short bit. Fairly dry after the finish. Damn nice complexity and balance of fruity/spicy yeast, pale malt, and earthy hop flavors; with a great malt/spiciness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, crisp, and slightly bready mouthfeel that is great. Alcohol is very well hidden with only a slight warming present after the finish. Overall this is an excellent tripel! All around great complexity and balance of fruity/spicy yeast, pale malt, and earthy hop flavors; and very smooth and crisp to sip on for the ABV. A very enjoyable offering.

Super hazy golden coloured body with a thick, two centimetre tall off-white head. Aroma of yeast, coriander seed, bananas, a hint of curacao and a bit of corn. Full-bodied; Strong banana flavour with a lot of yeast and wheat with a bit of curacao on the finish. Aftertaste is strong as hell with alcohol very noticeable and an almost creamy banana flavour with a lot of wheat and a very sweet finish. Overall, not as complex as I’d have imagined, but the sweetness, yeast, bananas and yeast are definitely noticeable, along with the pungent alcohol. I sampled this 65 cL bottle purchased from Liqour Outlet in Boonton, New Jersey on 30-December-2012 for US$5.89 sampled at home in Washington on 26-January-2013.

Bottle. Lactic lemon malt, Belgian yeast, and alcohol aroma. Medium yellow with small head. Sweet orange-lemon malt and acidic alcohol flavor. Lighter body. Okay - decent style-wise.

A light tripel. It has Belgian yeast and sugar, but lacks the spiceiness or complexity of quality tripels. Somewhat sweet with sugar.

Bottle: Poured a hazy dirty yellow color ale with a large foamy head with good retention and some good lacing. Aroma of spicy yeast notes with light fruity ester and sweet malt. Taste is also a mix between some sweet malt and some fruity ester with a spicy yeast finish. The re was some attenuation which is something that cannot be said for every American Triple. Body was about average with good carbonation and no apparent alcohol. Very solid interpretation of the style.

Location: 22 oz bottle from State Line, 8/13/12
Aroma: The nose is fairly heavy spiced, along with clove, Belgian yeast, grass, and some banana
Appearance: Pours a yellow-gold color with a small, fizzy white head that leaves some scattered lace
Flavor: Tastes mid-sweet (malts, yeast), mid-heavy spice, some fruit, and a later grassy bitterness
Palate: The body is light-medium, a heavy fizzy/tingly carbonation, and a somewhat aggressive, dry finish
Overall Impression: This is one of those beers that leaves you wishing it was better. It isn't absolutely terrible or anything, but unfortunately, it misses on a few too many levels. From the nose to the taste, and on through the palate, there was a lot that didn't quite work here. Mediocre at best...

22 oz. bottle, pours a hazy golden with a medium white head. Aroma of sweet candied apples, pears, Belgian yeast, straw, the fruity esters dominating the nose. Flavour of Belgian yeast first and foremost, with semi-sweet apples and pears, some straw malt. High-but-fitting carbonation, with signature Belgian yeast without the fruitiness being too sweet. Exceeded my expectations - great tripel.

Pours gold with off white head. The aroma has lots of sweetness going on like pears and sort of pear flavored cotton candy as well as a seemingly popcorn apricot sort of oddness. The taste is similar with sweet pear like cotton candy notes mingling with apricot and then a slight grainy maltiness into the finish.
