Real pumpkin, seasonal spices, and fresh-from-the-patch flavor. Some people say pumpkins are fruit. Other people say pumpkins are vegetables. We say… they’re tasty! So we brewed our fall-spiced hefeweizen with pure pumpkin – a truly delicious fruiveggie!

12 ounce bottle into pint glass, best before 12/15/2013. Pours hazy orange amber color with a 1 finger foamy white head with horrible retention, that reduces to a ring of lace quickly. Minimal lacing clings on the glass, with some moderate streaming carbonation. Aromas of pumpkin, cinnamon, clove, nutmeg, ginger, wheat, bread, banana, herbal, and yeast earthiness. Nice aromas with prominent spice/yeast ester notes and moderate malt balance; with good strength. Taste of pumpkin, cinnamon, gingerbread, nutmeg, clove, wheat, brown sugar, light banana, herbal, and yeast earthiness. Lingering notes of pumpkin, cinnamon, gingerbread, nutmeg, clove, brown sugar, wheat, light banana, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Good balance, robustness, and complexity of malt, spice, and yeast ester flavors; with a good sweetness/spice balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a moderately creamy and smooth mouthfeel that is good. Alcohol is very well hidden with minimal warming present after the finish. Overall this is good pumpkin ale. Good balance and robustness of pumpkin, malt, and spice flavors; and very smooth to drink. A pleasantly enjoyable offering.

Hazy orange and light amber coloured body with a good three centimetre tall tan head. Aroma of squash, light spices, earth and a touch of nuts - no hops at all on this one. Medium-bodied; Good rich squash and pumpkin flavour and body with some moderate spices of allspice and nutmeg and a good sweetness showing toffee and caramel, all with a relatively easy to drink feel of wheat. Aftertaste shows a nice rich squash flavour, but some light sugars make it end fairly well. Overall, an interesting and good blend of a wheat and a pumpkin-based beer with a rich body and some nice light spices and sugars. Good to try! I sampled this pint on draught at Westside Brewery in New York, New York yesterday on 01-November-2013.

Sample at Hal & Al’s during the Pumpkin Beer Tasting on 10/15/2013: Pours a hazy pale orange-copper color with a medium thin off-white head that dissipates quickly. Short strings of lacing. Aroma of pumpkin and toasted malt. Light-bodied with flavors of sweet pumpkin spices and malt. The finish is mildly spicy with a pumpkin and biscuit malt aftertaste. Slightly above average overall.
