The style of our summer ale is traditionally European, similar to a German kolsch: full bodied with a spicy hop tang and a rich, crystal clear golden color. Alcohol content is approximately 6% by volume.
Ingredients: Two row English malt (clarity, wheat and caramalt); Magnum, Tettnang and Saaz hops.

12 ounce bottle. Pours a dark Amber orange color with a dense creamy beige head. Aroma is of caramel malt and toffee. Rather bold for a summer ale. Flavor brings more caramel/toffee maltiness. A pleasant earthy, spicy hop bitterness balances the sweet malt flavor. Some nuttiness in finish. A complex malty Amber ale unlike most summer ales.

Purchased in their mixed pack on a trip to Maine. Pours a clean amber colour with a frothy warm cap, good retention and creamy lacing. Hoppy nose with some cereal malts and even banana. Floral hop taste at first with some nice grain malts in the finish. Fruity hints lingers. A nice, refreshing but heavier ale.

Tap at a random bar in Boothbay. Light orange. Some hops in the aroma and a little bitterness in the flavor. Seems too bitter for a comparison to kolsch.

Reviewed from notes.
The appearance was a clear golden yellow colored body with a one finger white foamy head that quickly dies, slight foamy lacing and rings are left in the wake.
The smell had malts and the hops with a bit of citrus in the background. There is a slight biscuity smell ever so slightly in the background.
The taste was pretty much the same as the smell with a slight hop bite in the finish.
On the palate, it sat at/about a light to medium with moderate carbonation on the tongue.
Overall, this is a solid brew by Geary’s that I would come back to.

Location: 12 oz bottle from Buy Rite, 7/2/13

Aroma: The nose has some spice, bread, caramel, and a bit of butter
Appearance: It pours a cloudy orange color with a small white head and some drippy lace
Flavor: The "offness" comes through more, otherwise the components are the same as the nose
Palate: The body is light-medium, it has a lively carbonation, and a dry, spicy finish
Overall Impression: There's something sort of buttery that throws this one off. It's subtle enough in the nose, but unfortunately, comes through more in the flavor. It's okay outside of that, but that is hard to get past.
