The first offering from the Coastal Extreme Brewing Company blends some of the world’s finest ingredients into a delightful beer. In producing our amber ale, we selected the highest quality European and American malts and hops. This ale has a malt character which is delicately balanced with its hop profile so that consumers of all levels enjoy drinking it. Hurricane Amber Ale is a full flavored beer which clearly has more taste than other domestic and imported light beers while at the same time does not overpower the drinker with heavy body or excessive bitterness. An overall solid beer. Rich, thick head and strong, dark copper color. Taste is suggestive of caramel and toffee. Smooth with just enough complexity to keep it interesting. I wish this brew was more widely distributed.

12 ounce bottle courtesy of beerbill. Thanks! Pours a hazy orange color with a thin head, decent head retention and lacing. Very nutty aroma with some toffee and caramel notes as well. Taste is nuts, sunflower, some light stone fruit notes and bitter hops. Medium bodied.

12oz bottle. Medium light amber colored beer. Off burnt butterscotch flavors. Hoppy crispness saves it from amber malt hell. Not really a good beer, but preferable to macro-swill I suppose. Certainly not recommendable.

Pretty amber with beige head, good fluff that holds its own....wonderful caramel malt among, very exciting, substantial body for an ale, but a thinness at the same time...a fresh flavorful creation with depth....a caramel characteristic with a bitter touch...a delicate sweetness that lingers on the lips

Growler from brewery. Slightly sweet apple malt aroma. Bright amber color with moderate head. Nice malt/Horlicks flavor. On the light side. A very nice amber ale.

I swear the moment I openned this bottle I had the strong smell of banana and sure enough, the initial flavor is extremely sweet, bordering on fruity, with banana notes. Copper colored body with a whispy white head. If you can get beyond the sweet flavor there is a touch of malt to this beer. The finish is clean and lighter than one might expect. I have never desired a beer flavored with banana but if you have, then this is not bad.

2004 Draught @ Sunset Grill. Fairly clear light orange with some ambers and yellows. Small off-white head, mostly disippating. Aroma has a touch of light hops and a bit of toasty malt, nothing terribly aromatic. Flaor opens up dry, papery and lightly astringent, toasted malt not balanced with any sweet flavors dries the palate out too much and the light papery hops do not seem to add much. Decent bitter flavor on the finish and as it warms, some lightly sweet malt flavors try to peek through, but overall, it is just a wet textured, medium bodied amber, with very little to get excited about.
