Very imbalanced compared to their other stouts. Lots of coffee and some cardboard. Some roast. Bitter finish. Thick pour. Tap at Churchkey.

Bomber. Pours a deep motor oil brown/black with a thin tan head that forms slowly and dies quickly. Aromas are of cocoa, vanilla, black cherry and ash. Flavor is a bit different than expected. Black cherry is a nice opening salvo (and strikes me as odd), but then it gives way to chocolate and cream. Nice (and very underrated) imperial stout.

Sample at Great Taste of the Midwest on 08/09/2014: Dark brownish-black pour with a medium foamy khaki head that diminishes steadily to a film. Small patches of lacing. Aroma of coffee, chocolate and malt. Medium to full body with flavors of roasted coffee, dark chocolate and sweet malt. The finish is roasty with a coffee aftertaste. Pretty good all around.

Bottle shared by Victor at Monday Night Tasting. Pours black with brown head. Nose/taste of molasses, roast chocolate, coffee and toasted bread. Medium body.

Bottle thanks to beernbourbon. Pours opaque black with a medium dark brown creamy head that dissipates fairly slowly and laces well. Flavor is a ton of dark roasted malts, chocolate, anise, coffee. Flavor follows, light sweet and medium bitter, rich dark roasted malts, coffee, cocoa with just a bit of ash. Fullish body, creamy mouth feel. This, to me, is a pretty good stout. Not sure what is going on with the hating for this one.

From a bottle at the EBF Saturday Nice rich coffee and chocolate but feels like it needs more sweetness to me.
