From a bottle this is a nice full bodied beer without any of the nasty typical ale effects. fer sure, this is smooth and easy. I find it to be better than expected.Yes, more friendly than most porters. Has manners, is easy going and is so unexpectedly nice. Certainly up there with Labatt Porter, Beaver Black & Tan, Saranac 4059 Porter and Beaver Maple Brown Porter but not as good as Indigo Imp Gatekeeper, East End Pink Clouds Porter, Yuengling Original Black and Tan or Bayhawk Chocolate Porter

Draft at the brewery during RBWG 2014 - Asheville. Pours clear, amber-brown with a creamy, tan head. Pretty OK stuff, with some chocolaty malts, light toasted caramel, bread, leaves. Light to medium bodied with average carbonation. Sweet finish, reasonably well balanced, with further mellow chocolate and toasty bread. Nice beer.
