16-Bit Double Pale Ale is the next generation of pale ale from Tallgrass. For fans of 8-Bit Pale Ale ready to advance to a new realm, 16-Bit DPA is a one-pint finishing move that delivers a sweeping sequence of crisp aromas, light body, bright hoppiness and striking citrus flavors. Best enjoyed in multi-player mode.

Pour is a bright hazy gold with a large white head. Aroma is a nice citrus hop with some sweet fruit. Flavor is a decent but low profile hop follow by a bigger malt presence. Finish is very dry and bitter. The first whif of the aroma is the best thing about this beer. Very tropical fruity.

Tallboy can poured into a Sint Christoffel thin tulip glass. Pours with a medium sized head and a hazy dull gold. Aroma is all hops, kind of vegetal, slightly fruity, and dry. Flavor is a slightly bitter with fruity hops. Nothing new, clean behind the hops, not overly dry, not overly sweet. Everything is kind of middle of the rode. Easy drinking, very much in the APA style. I could drink it again or easily forget about it.

16 oz. can courtesy of Tripplebrew, thanks. Pours hazy gold with white head into a lager glass. Spotty lace. Soft carbonation. Bread malt and citrus / grassy hop nose. Taste is subtle grassy hops with a moderate bitterness toward the finish. Overall impression is this is crisp, smooth pale ale. Basic and simple however, refreshing and super easy to drink. My 1st brew from the state of Kansas.

16 oz can purchased at Royal in Kansas City, Missouri. 12 207 stamped on bottom of can. The pour is golden tangerine orange, hazed, with a two inch off white head. The head is lasting, eventually falls with pretty lacing. The aroma is tropical fruit, light resin, and a bit of toasted cracked malt. Fresh nose. The taste is the tropical fruit, sort of mango-pineapple, up front, turning a bit grassy resinous, but very gently, and then finishing with the soft clean cracker malt of the nose. The finish shows some light pine, mineral and is quite dry. The palate is light to medium bodied, fine carbonation, unfiltered mouth feel and the dry crisp finish. Really easy drinking beer, this will be great for the summer.

Can from Heritage. After so much talk about this, I am disappointed. Light gold color. Mild aroma of hops, but really not enough of it. Dry, bread flavor with very little hops at all, I would compare this beer to Summit EPA. For $3/can, I would stick to Furious. This beer is not bad, but it does not have a lot to offer.

Location: 16 oz can from Colonial Wine and Spirits, 3/12/12
Aroma: The nose has some citrus and tropical fruits, with yeast, bread, and malts
Appearance: The pour is a clear golden-orange color, with a white head, and spotty lacing
Flavor: The taste is mid-sweet with fruity flavors, and a medium-plus hoppy bitterness
Palate: The body is medium, it has a nice drinkability, a slightly sticky feel, and a mid-dry finish
Overall Impression: Rater # 6, I guess this one is pretty new, I know it is the first time they've had it at Colonial. As for the beer, I found this one to be a solid APA. It has a nice hop presence and drinks fairly well. It could be simply described as a nicely hopped session APA.
