Velvety black and perfectly opaque, this surprisingly smooth, drinkable beer is a delightful harmony of smoky roasted flavors and tangy, coffee-like notes. Available only on tap at fine establishments throughout our distribution region.

Draft: Poured a deep thick black with a nice creamy beige/light brown head. Aroma is roasted malts. Taste is nice bold roasted malts, light coffee smoke. Finish was dry and inviting.

Drank this beer a lot over my years in Kansas, finally ticking it. Shaker pour on nitro at Pachamama’s in Lawrence. Pours the traditional nitro way, thick head at the end. Aroma is dark and wet roast. Flavor is similar with light coffee, stale dark malts, and a watery malt backbone. Man, I hate nitro.

Sample from draft, courtesy of staff at Sickie’s, thanks! Dark brown, looks like a Guinness. Aroma of milk chocolate. Taste is caffe au lait. Nice.

Bottle: Pours a dark brown with a small ring of tan head. Aroma isn’t overly dry or roasty, but balanced with a malty sweetness and light coffee. Riding the fence between styles, really. Much more roastiness in the taste along with some bittersweet notes and a dry, lingering finish of roast and coffee. Body is just about right for the style. Not bad, it doesn’t stand out.

Received in trade from Monkeyknife, thanks for the opportunity. Pours a dark brown/black with ruby highlights when held to light. Has a skimpy off white head that sticks for a bit. Aroma is faint cocoa and dried fruit. I’m missing the roasted grains that are typical in a dry stout. Taste has some chocolates, a bit of roast bitterness and some more dried fruit. Carbonation is ample, mouthfeel is creamy, body could be a little thicker for me. Overall a decent brew, I could see myself sessioning this if it were more available to me. Could use more roast flavor and aroma.

bottle thanks to Creedon pours black with a medium brown head. Aroma is smoke and charcoal with hints of dark cherries. Flavor is roasty through and through, dark malts, light smoke, crisp finish with moderate carbonation. Solid stuff.

Pitch black coloured body, 95% opaque with a nice dense light brown head. Aroma of roasted malt, light coffee and a small amount of chocolate. Medium-bodied; Pungent taste of roasted malt and coffee with a light chocolate bitterness and a fresh clean aftertaste. Showing signs of hops and bitterness at the end, but very rounded and nice. Overall, a good dry stout - no harsh flavours at all and hardly any alcoholic twang to speak of. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from Oklahoma City, Oklahoma on 04-February-2006 on the Eastern Shore of Virginia.

Bottle. Dark brown, tan head... looks like a stout. Aromas of coffee and chocolate... smells like a stout. Flavors are fairly consistent, too. A mix of weak coffee and chocolate with a little a dry and maybe even slightly sour edge to it. Pretty good, but a rather simple beer.

12 oz. stubby bottle. Pours mostly black, a half-inch light tan foam head. Nice smell with a bit of roastiness and noticeable flavoring hops over inviting malt smell. First taste impression is that it’s a little too highly carbonated for this style. Soda pop bubbles get in the way of what should be a smooth beer. Some brisk coffee notes can be found, but not easily. Smells better as I drink it and can get my nose into the glass. Leaves nice rings of lace around the sides. Some smokiness comes out a little further on, and a bit of orange peel. But considering this brewer’s wonder Bully! Porter, their stout is a bit disappointing. But it is bottle-conditioned; maybe this sample got a bit of over-eager yeast.
