This gloriously amber-coloured ale is made with what is often considered to be the finest hop on earth, Simcoe. The result is a fantastically fruity finish with distinctly malty undertones.

Cask at Nicholsonβs pub canary wharf. Light amber coloured pour with a lasting stodgy off white head. Aroma is biscuit malt, hedgerow hop. Quite subdued on the nose as well. Flavour is nutty malts, biscuit, hedgerow earthy bark hop, rusty penny, fibrous hop matter. Bitterness is harsh and really out of balance and lingers in the mouth. Palate is semi sweet, moderate cask condition. OK beer but way out of balance.

On tap at the three stags bebbibgton. Deep gold colour with a thick creamy white head. Citrus hop and fruity aroma, but only just. Taste is light with a definate bitter finish.

Cask at the Larbert beer festival. Pours clear amber, nose is floral, fruity, citrus, taste is sweet fruit, dry toffee, bitter.

330ml bottle. Clear, amber colour with average, thick, frothy to creamy, fairly lasting, moderately lacing, off-white head. Biscuity, malty aroma with citrusy hoppy overtones in orange and mandarine direction, hints of peppercress. Taste is minimally herbal, citrusy hoppy, biscuity malty basis, intermingled hints of orange and mandarine, some peppercress, cautious hints of dry cocoa powder. Makes a lot out of a rather undistinguished style.

330 ml bottle. Clear amber body with a medium sized off-white head. Aroma is quite malty with some citric fruit, mostly oranges. Flavor is also mostly malty, some citric fruit, not particular bitter, but the bitterness is almost a bit harsh. Like orange zest and bitter grapefruit. Medium body and average aftertaste. Drinkable but I miss some more freshness here.

Cask @ The Crown Hotel, Liverpool. Golden with a small head, with a light and easy drinking texture, but heavy and stated in its tropical fruit aroma and taste - and itβs tasty!

Bottle. Amber beer with a strong white head. The aroma is quite malty with some bitterness, and the flavour is reasonably bitter with a floral hoppedness. Overall a nice well hopped and gently malty beer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle from Terre de Boissons Calais and drunk at home. Clear deep amber colour, lasting thin beige head. Aroma of some hop and toffee malt. OK in the mouth, some hops on the finish are quite good. I thought very drinkable.

Bottle, 4,5%. Slightly hazy amber with small white head. Aroma is malt, caramel, toasted, little hop with notes of citrus. Flavour is malt, fruit, caramel, toasted, biscuit, little hop, medium sweet, little bitter with notes of citrus.
